If there is a label which need no introduction then it's Perfecto for sure! Ran by founder Paul Oakenfold in 1989 and still alive and kicking 20 years later! Kenneth Thomas is also a man who made his steps in the trance scene years ago! With releases on Alter Ego, Armada and Hope Recordings he returns to perhaps the most influenced and respected label around!

Kenneth Thomas vs Airglow - The Promise (Adam White Remix)

Always been a huge fan of Adam White! Really love his melodic instrumental touch on remixes and own productions! After releasing 'Chimera' last month he's been busy in the studio. With many remixes coming up, i can't even imagine how he stands up delivering the quality what he's releasing. This remix is stunning from the begin to the very end. A perfect build-up which got a lot to offer "solid bassline, perfect synthline, effects". The break is typical Adam White's.. short and straight to the climax, which is in my opinion perfect. The only thing i have with Adam White's remixes is that there seems to be something missing... You always expect vocals in his tracks, i dunno why but just got the feeling that's missing. As there are no vocals in the whole release there is nothing to complain about! Quality remix!

Kenneth Thomas vs Airglow - The Promise (Elucidate Remix)

Sean Beckwith & Ken Loi aka Elucidate are also not unknown in the trance scene. They just released there first single on the Bonzai network. This remix is best described as progressive me thinks. The perfect melody out of the original mix is fitting perfectly into this remix. Mixed with some fresh arp's and percussion this mix is quite tasty! Not a big fan of the bassline though. I notice a lot of producers are trying that 'lead' bassline into there trance productions. Still think a 'standard' bassline works the best. Neverless they did a fine job!

Kenneth Thomas vs Airglow - The Promise (Joey Modus Remix)

Joey Modus as described an 'electro house talent' gets his hands dirty on this release again. He remixed Adam White's - Chimera and have to say i was not really impressed by that one. Hope to get sold on this on then. He used some sort of housy vocal on this one, and it did work! Not sure about the original melody in this remix, he could have used another instrument for it. It still sounds a bit empty, lack of a strong bassline is the answer me thinks. It sounds more as a laidback remix as an electro house dancefloor monster. Nice effort though.

Kenneth Thomas vs Airglow - The Promise (Original Mix)

To get straight to the point this is definitely my favourite mix of the whole release! What a belter of a tune this is! Progressive trance at it's finest! Always had respect for Kenneth Thomas his producing skills. All elements in this remix are fabulous, percussion, bassline and ofcourse the lovely mainlead which you are gonna love for sure! A brilliant melody which is both dreamy and very catchy. Already spun by Paul Oakenfold in his Perfecto On Tour mixes. Got this one on repeat today, and with a reason. It's just stunning.

Kenneth Thomas vs Airglow - The Promise (Sean Marx Remix)

Irish producer Sean Marx his turn on this track. This is more a mellow trance remix. Very easy listenable and laidback. Just using some simple instruments and effects this one turns out to be really nice! Can't really say i recognize a lot out this one from the original mix, but that's not always necessary ofcourse. Yes this one fits in nicely into the remix package. Make sure to listen to this one!

Kenneth Thomas vs Airglow - The Promise (Three O and Swedish Egil Remix)

Again a Swedish Egil remix on a Perfecto release. A bit in the same style as his remix on Chimera this one got a small influence on Deadmau's famous productions. He build-up this remix quite slowly and had no idea what's coming next, did actually expect this to be totally unrecognizable towards the original. But he used the main melody nicely in this one. Nothing over-the-top and it keeps more soft and dreamy. Not outstanding towards the rest of the house remixes, but it can keep it's head above the water.

Conclusion:

I did hear a sample of the original mix a while back on Kenneth Thomas his myspace, and was pleased to see it was going to get released on Perfecto. After all these years they still seem capable to release fine trance. Not really impressed by any of the House remixes Joey Modus and Swedish Egil have made though. But i'm really fond of both the Original mix and Adam White's remix! They just can't let you down! Be sure to keep an eye on this one when it's released.
