Label: Levare Recordings
Release Date: TBA
Levare Recordings is back with another smashing release on their label. Producers Nisona (Slobodan Dusanic) and EnMass (Randy Boyer & Eric Tadla) teamed up and the result of this collaboration is the amazing ‘Bassline Road’. On remix duty we have Mike Saint-Jules, who delivers a great uplifting remix of this floor filler!
Original Mix
On first listening to this I wasn't sure. The strange NES style effect used as the main part of this song didn't seem strong enough to carry it through. On listening to this again, I realise the aim is not to do too much, this works perfectly as a chilled out trancer. A bright sounding pad backs things up nicely along with a trademark bassline. Strangely though, this sounds more like Randy Boyer & Eric Tadla than it does EnMass (if that makes any sense). A rather groovy tune.
Mike Saint-Jules Mix
This is more chilled out than the original, and yet also more uplifting. The beat is slowed right down and the percussion is cut down to a minimum. I've been waiting for 'Big Mike' to really show us what he can do and I think he's finally done it here. The influences from his label mate Breakfast are clear, and this is a remix he can be proud of. The main riff is reproduced with a much classier instrument before a mini-tech session fills out the middle of the song. Everything fits together really well on this on and it'd definitely my pick of the two.
Rating:
A great release, both mixes deliver the goods.
