As u probably already assumed Alex Bartlett is behind this project and he's doing this with singer Marcia Juell. This is the latest release on Martin Roth's Lunatique album. "Off The World" was a huge success! Let's see if this one comes close to that! smile.gif

All samples made by me, and during 2:00 minutes.

Review:

Bartlett Bros - let it flow (Ronnie Play Remix DUB)

Never heard of Ronnie Play before to be honest. I saw he produced some releases before on several labels. So he's definitely not a newcomer to the scene.
I think this release could best be described as a house release. It starts off really nice and slow.. and build-up to a part where u expect some vocals, but this is the dub version as u can see lol. It doesn't mean there are zero vocals in it.. he used some vocal effects though. All by all a nice housy track for the summer days.

Bartlett Bros - let it flow (Ronnie Play Remix)

Hmm in my opinion this sounds a lot better with use of the nice vocals! They really fitting perfectly in this track. Also this one and ofcourse the dub remix got both great percussion and a nice flow in it! It's not getting boring, perhaps that's because it's only 6 Minutes 30 long. Which is quite short for some people. Great tracks! Looking forward hearing more from mr Ronnie Play.

Bartlett Bros - let it flow (Audiosonique DUB)

When i first turned this remix on, it thought it's gonna be some kinda Deadmau5 rip-off again. Which causes quite a hype nowadays. But i was wrong thank God for that lol. Quite a groovy remix here,, not really like the stutter vocal snippets they [ Mazza & Martinelli] used here. But that's probably worked out in the vocal mix. Also not really sure about the bassline they added around 5:00 minutes. It sounds a bit cheap in my opinion, but some may like it. For me it proves a bit of lack of inspiration to add something different. Well certainly not a bad mix, but for me not the best.

Bartlett Bros - let it flow (Audiosonique Vocal)

As i said before in the Ronnie play remix. I really like Marcia's vocal here. But why o why did they keep those vocal snippets? Really can't be used anno 2008 imo. It's overused by a lot of artists already. Well it's ofcourse a matter of taste, but i would not add them if you can use the nice vocals to make your remix. Prefering this to the Dub mix though.

Bartlett Bros - let it flow (Gareth Emery Remix)

Hmm perhaps the remix we all are waiting for! Gareth Emery is growing and growing! His remixes are spun by all great Dj's around the world, and his own releases are top notch. To be honest i'm not really impressed by this remix either. Those vocal snippets are just ruining it again hehe. Altough really like the part around 4:00 where he used his own little trick once again! It's really catchy. Perhaps the only thing really interesting in this remix. The bassline is quite cheap, the kick is flat, percussion is soft. Still a decent remix! Listen to all samples and decide yourself!

Conclusion

A fresh EP from Lunatique again. Well what can i say, i'm not really hooked to this one to be honest. Think that Ronnie Play did provide the best remix, those vocals are really ment to be in that remix. Emery's remix will ofcourse get the most attention because of his reputation. But i think it doesn't provide the material to be 'outstanding'. Nice release overall. smile.gif
