Label: Moody Moon Recordings
Release Date: TBA
Ferry Corsten’s own Flashover Recordings will be launching a new sub-label called Moody Moon Recordings. Heading the sub-label after many successful releases will be Flashover’s own star producer Casey Keyworth a.k.a. Breakfast. The first release on Moody Moon Recordings, is the awesome track “Only Two Should Know”. This is a collaboration between Breakfast himself and Mike Saint-Jules.
Included with “Only Two Should Know” are two progressive remixes that complement the original. Early support already by Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz and Judge Jules!
Original Mix
I've been waiting some time to get a Breakfast tune to review as I've been a huge fan since day one. Annoyingly, this isn't the usual euphoric style I would expect from him but production wise it's definitely Breakfast. The last collaboration between these two was the remix of Filo & Peri's 'Ordinary Moment' and I loved that. This is a much more chilled out affair but the instruments and techniques are all the same. A rather weird riff is used for the first half of the song, I think to lure you into a false sense of security more than anything. A typical Breakfast 'pad' (for lack of a better word) is introduced over the top before things are brought to a climax. I've heard better from these guys.
Campfire Mix
A Marcus Schossow style kick drum is used on this version, so it's definitely gonna be more of a progressive showing here. A mini-break in the middle climbs much higher than the original does at any point, but other than that not a lot really happens.
Moody Mix
A hit is used on this one that reminds me of Deadmau5, as well as the pad laid on top. A mini-break similar to the Campfire Mix is used and again not a lot else goes on. Disappointing to say the least.
Rating:
I was hoping for so much more from this release and I want to give it a higher score, but I have to be honest.
6/10
