Chelsea set to land Kaka for record £80m
Although being a fan of AC Milan...
This offer from chelski will be too good to refuse given the financial situation the rossorneri is facing as well as facing next seasons without UEFA Champs League
If the offer is refuse then we will be able to catch the triple brazilian attack in the red and black shirt!

Football Players Fees are just getting way out of control !!!!
I have a crappy feeling that Aston Villa`s Barry will end up at Arsenal. Liverpool wont buy him now alonso is staying.

you can go too far...that's too much money for one player!!! in many cases they did not show the expected performance...i think it's wasted money.

There are pretty much a a number of players' value being inflated really bad...
but the are some good deals recently like the one West Brom gotten in Scott Carson for like £3.5m
and now blackburn will be getting Paul Robinson for £4m (he just needs to lose some weights and he will be as good as what made him a good GK like the good old days at Leeds Utd!!)

looks like the deal wouldn't go through
it will be great to catch Kaka-Pato-Ronaldinho in action!

I feel all the criticism laid of at Paul Robinson has been abit harsh last season. At 3.5 - 4 Million Blackburn have got a good deal for a good (although not world class) keeper that can give them a minimum of 5 years service!

I think martin o'neill got a great deals with the purchases on Luke Young and Shorey for £9m
Both are experience in the respective full back role and have been in the set up of the national team
Its also nice to see that not all english players are that expensive and over-priced
I hope to see more great deals for the remaining of the transfer period
Real Madrid also bought a really good player in R. van der Vaart
They should try to use the remaining of the cash meant for C. Ronaldo and recruit David Villa
That will make Real a formidable side in attack!

That is a BIG gamble by Benitez
I hope keane will not be another striker getting push to the becoming a winger come the middle of the seasons if he can't score some goals!
The new kid Ngog(is that his last name??) looks impressive...
perhaps one to watch in the future

bit gutted my team (Tottenham) sold keane. Why is it players only have to say 'im going' and they basically have to be sold?
Also was sad to see Robinson go, but he was lacking confidence and hopefully he can get back on track at Blackburn. Meanwhile we have got Gomes, who looks to be an ok keeper, but a bit suspect on crosses. Hopefully he will work out.
But, we have bought Bentley (awesome player imo), Modric (Yet again hes world class), Dos Santos (looks really good, and is very young. im expecting a lot of him).
And with Bent firing them in, in pre season im excited to be a spurs fan.

Gomes an ok keeper ??
I'm an Ajax fan but have to say that Gomes was the best keeper in the Dutch league for a couple of years and I'm happy that he is gone now
You need to check the CL matches from PSV against Lyon, Arsenal and the match against Tottenham

IMO Robinson is not even half as good as Gomes so be happy that Paul is gone

Frank Lampard signed a new 5 year contract with Chelsea this evening.
I wonder does that mean he will stay there for the rest of his career, or it means Inter Milan will have to pay a big fee to bu him next summer?
Going to be an interesting season ahead. United have been surprisingly quiet this summer, although getting Tevez secured to a permanent deal should be a priority.

the good thing was we got good money for him and liverpool stumped it up. something they havent done with the attrocious gareth barry saga. liverpool have shown themselfs in bad light this off season. i feel for villa.

Contracts aren't worth anything anymore
Everywhere around the continent you get that problem.
Just look at C. Ronaldo.......
Why on earth do you sign a long term contract if you know that you are leaving the club after 25% of your contract ??
rexijis
Aug 16 2008, 02:22 AM
I agree that contracts nowadays are just a document in black and white and thats about it...
It all really changes after the Bosman Ruling and another clauses set by FIFA who stats that players above certain age can leave the club after serving 2or was it 3 years of his contract by just paying up the remaining of his pay...
FIFA really gotta do something, makes some changes and help the clubs instead...

is martin o'neill going mad adding more defensive options into his squad?

contracts are really only any use to players. if they get injured or turn poor they get to keep that money they signed for unless the team sells him, and thats only providing he wants to leave
its all about the greedy players these days

well so far gomes looks like an absolute clown. hes cost us game after game with dreadful performances. hes producing exactly like i thought he would. the odd good save but as eratic and unsafe as anyone ive ever seen play for us.
