Original Mix
I was expecting a full on techy number when I saw Ali Wilson's name, so I was pleasantly surprised when I started to listen to this. Flashover's been churning out some beauties recently, and this follows in the same fashion as Preach's 'Elektra'. Funky stabs, riffs and synths all sit together perfectly and then the bass is added which amps things up nicely. This all builds into the excellent breakdown of the teaser variety, getting you all excited before breaking back to the funky grooves you will now know and love. Great work from the pair.
Ali Wilson & Scott Atrill Remix
This is what I was expecting all along. Higher tempo, and the typical Tekelec sounds Wilson is famous for. Strangely I prefer the original; I think this version tries too hard. A rather strange sounding riff peaks things a little too much before we get a final break similar to the original mix.
Rating:
Go with the original and you won't be disappointed.
