Blissful Balearic moments courtesy of Above & Beyond's chart-hitting side project with Justine Suissa.

Ibiza - the birthplace of modern dance music. 20 years on and the island remains an important catalyst for today's hottest dance talents. This year, OceanLab, the project featuring Above & Beyond and singer/songwriter Justine Suissa spent several weeks holed up in a villa there finishing their debut album, "Sirens Of The Sea".

Steeped in Balearic brilliance, "Sirens Of The Sea" is a mix of blissed out epics and dancefloor cuts. An album of depth, variety and serene beauty, showcasing a level of songwriting and production rarely witnessed within electronic music, and already drawing comparisons with bands such as Zero 7 and Everything But The Girl.

As OceanLab, Tony, Paavo and Jono's work with Justine has led to a string of club anthems such as "Clear Blue Water" (Top 50 UK Sales Chart), "Sky Falls Down" and "Beautiful Together", with each release adding to OceanLab's reputation as one of clubland's best loved vocal dance projects. They crossed into the mainstream consciousness when their 4th single, "Satellite", was A-listed on Radio 1 and broke into the Top 20 of the UK sales chart, enjoying similar success globally.

if this is full of songs like 'sirens of the sea', then there's no chance i'll be getting this

Miracle got to be the best track ever by Oceanlab. It's simply stunning, breathtakingly beautiful. I don't expect much of this album though, as I've got pretty much bored with Justine's voice - only this one track that just makes me shiver...

I picked up this album today ( Tis what happens when your mate is manager of a music shop yipeeee ). If you dont like Sirens of the Sea, or Miracle.. then you wont like the album...cos its all very similar to these two tunes. I listened to it once in my car on the way back from the shop and it was pretty chilled out, its not trance, its chill tunes.... ok actually ( For £6 )

Justine Suissa`s voice is pretty much the same on every tune, but then again I have liked her since Sky Falls Down Deffinatly an album for the blissful above n beyond fans tho.

Got my copy thru yesterday morning, it's what I expected and more. It's been known for a while this album wouldn't be club mixes all the way so it's not a let down.

Have to disagree with Skint, Justine's voice is quite different in a few of the tracks - the first track in this week's TATW for a start - On a Good Day.

The whole album has a wonderful flow to it, it's def not as chilled as the samples on CDJShop make out, but for the fans of the club mixes, it could be different to what you might think.

Similar to Tri-State as that wasn't all out club tracks, the club remixes to come out will be more of that style. It'll be in my car for a while methinks

Controversial!

Will more than likely buy this, although i don't know if i would listen to it much with 90% of the tracks being more on the mellow/chill out side..either way definitely need to give it a full listen always loved Justine's voice, and her and A&B's Oceanlab material in particular.

Bought this one yesterday. Listened to it just once yet, but must say it's pretty awesome album.

Yeah I like it too... its deffinatly growing on me. Listened to it a few times now and although I still like singing along to Miracle, I think the song that does it for me the most is "On a Good Day "

All of the tracks i have heard off this album have been vocally and follow the same formula....so pretty boring

Just heared the song, don't like it at all. Nothing spectacular in there and the lyrics are indeed... pretty bad

Havn't heared the full album, but I think a whole cd of Oceanlab + Suissa tracks is just 'a bit' too much for me.

Don't have a copy of the album yet. I guess I'll have to listen to some of the songs first before I get a copy of it.
