Complimenting their all-encompassing line up Gatecrasher has now raised the bar yet again by adding two of the biggest artists of the last 12 months: MARK RONSON and HOTCHIP.



The transatlantic producer, performer, writer and man of the moment MARK RONSON has exploded onto the forefront of UK and US music scene and will be heading to the event for a coveted DJ set on the Sunday. Having collaborated with some of the world’s most popular stars such as Amy Winehouse, Lilly Allen, Christina Aguilera and The Kaiser Chiefs remixing and covering a massive range of artists and genres he has carved a niche as a pedigree producer. His live shows deliver a unique and eclectic blend of classic funk, soul and Hip Hop mixed with modern pop and all garnished with vintage British Rock n Roll and indie so you can be sure his DJ set will be reflective of his tastes. In 2007 he released his double platinum selling album of covers and remixes ‘Version’ which included the monster #2 hit ‘Valerie’ feat Amy Winehouse and secured him Best Male Artist at the 2008 Brit awards. He will be performing an array of his singles and classic tracks in a DJ set at one of his biggest festival slots to date on the all new Zane Lowe stage at Summer Sound System.



No introduction should be necessary for one of the biggest acts of the past year ­HOTCHIP - already making an indelible mark on 2008 with their top 10 single ‘Ready For The Floor’, the five-piece synth connoisseurs will be gracing the Main Stage at Summer Sound System with an extra special set, laying down their own inimitable brand of electro-pop. After receiving a Mercury Prize nomination for their second album in 2006 their third studio album ‘Made in the Dark’ released in February reached #4 in the UK album charts, #8 in Europe and received massive critical acclaim from the likes of Mixmag and NME firmly cementing them as one of the acts to catch in 2008. Hot Chip’s interactive live mixes and reinvention of their album tracks live on stage make them one of the most sought after acts to indulge in for any self confessed electro/pop lover and Gatecrasher will be their first appearance on the festival calendar.
