Label: Maelstrom

Physical Release Date: 24th March 2008

Tiesto dons his Allure hat once again teaming up with Julie Thompson for the superb new single "Somewhere Inside". A standout live track from the Elements Of Life world tour, Julie has performed "Somewhere Inside" with Tiesto to over 500,000 people globally over the last 12 months so is established as a fan favourite.

Original Mix
First things first: I don't like Tiesto. Those of you who have read my reviews in the past will know that I am always more than glad to admit to this. Luckily for him this isn't Tiesto, this is "Allure". Like many of you, I first heard this tune on the "In Search Of Sunrise 6" compilation mixed by the man himself. I may not like his productions in general, but I can honestly say I love this song. Initially it seems like a rather boring and calm melodic affair, but it's so beautiful you can't help falling in love with it. Just the right level of synth is applied to maximise the emotion produced by Julie Thompson's fantastic vocal. To top it all off, a guitar-like element is added which only enhances the mood. This is one of those songs that would make me close my eyes on the dancefloor and drift off into a world of my own.

Andy Duguid Remix
Andy's got a tough job here. How do you follow up such a beautiful original mix? Add a slightly dirty electro bassline of course! The most effective elements of the original mix are combined with the new bassline to great effect, with a few piano keys added to the breakdown just to give this remix a distinctive edge. Not a bad effort, but this is one of those songs that cannot be made better.

Rating:
A return to form from Tiesto, in the most fantastic way possible.
9/10

When i first hear this one,, i really thought this was Sunlounger feat Zara - Crawling. Quite similar in my opinion. Ofcourse it are two completely different tunes but still.. Like this track a lot. Beautiful vocals by Julie Thompson. Excellent review mate.
