anyone else have this issue? i have a 10mbit/2mbit line so streaming a 128k sound file shouldnt be an issue, regardless of my location. any suggestions?

Are you using windows XP service pack 2 or greater, or Vista?

If so, thats the problem, you need to set the number of half open TCP connections to a greater number

If thats the case, I can walk you through it

Not quite true, you could have a 100mbps / 100mbps link and still have connection issues. It all depends on how your ISP routes your data back to our network within the UK and how your ISP "treats" your data within there network.

Can you post a traceroute back to the server you are tuned in to? (Please note that after the 1st Rapidswitch hop there will be 3 time outs before our server responds. This is due to hardware upstream not responding to ICMP)

As the other poster has pointed out it could be a TCP restriction. Could you look at your event viewer to see if there is the following:

EventID 4226: TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts

Kind Regards,

If you’ve received a 4226 warning, or want to ensure you won’t get any, you can alter the maximum connection limit using

yo, i just tried it again today... seems to be working fine. the only thing i did differently was use winamp instead of crappy itunes so perhaps that may have been the issue, or maybe the site was busy when i was trying it before. either way, streaming perfectly fine now, thanks for your help though guys, much appreciated. keep up the good work on the site as well!

We will be adding some extra streaming servers around europe & the US this year (funds permitting). Going add a donation system to the site this week as we have just had to upgrade the ALH on both channels. We now have a average ALH of 50,000 hours across the site. biggrin.gif 123groovey.gif thumbsupsmileyanim.gif 123clap.gif 123yahoo.gif
