Original Mix
And so Ferry Corsten expands his empire with his new sub-label 'Levare'. As the sister label 'Aleph' caters for the housier end of the dance market, I wasn't sure what to expect here. My fears soon disappeared when I discovered this label looks like it's going to be the home for Flashover's more generic trance releases, and that is particularly good news for the uplifting trance lover. I grew up in the huge commercial trance era of the late nineties and I'm not a big fan of new 'remixes' of classic tunes, so I didn't want to see some rehash of Binary Finary's "1999". I'm glad to say this is not the case, instead this is a superb production Ferry himself would be proud of. Percussion and Rafael Frost-style effects start the song off, sounding just like the good old days but also not sounding outdated. The build-up to the breakdown is patient, but when that big moment comes it's well worth the wait. A synth that can only be described as 'Dutch' takes over and it's like trance never went away. The lead into the chorus is slightly hesitant, but the pay-off is so big it's not a problem. A second helping of the chorus follows, and then gradually dies down to a wonderful climax. What a way to launch a label.

Just like Ronseal Perfect Finish Decking Stain, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
