Traveller
And so the Cellection train steams along, with the second release from their sub-label Owano. I've always been a fan of Cellection, and this package certainly isn't going to change that. 'Traveller' starts off with some soft percussion followed by the inevitable inclusion of a rather nice bassline which fits the track well. The track builds to a mini-break, introducing the elements that will carry us through to the main breakdown. A synth that reminds me in a good way of Nenes & Pascal Feliz's 'Platinum' is brought in, and it tops things off emphatically. It's not too hard, and it's not too soft, it's just right. This forms the chorus of the song, and leads to the closing stages in great fashion.
Maybe
This is a very different affair to 'Traveller'. If 'Traveller' was a moody song, this is the cheery alternative. Again, it's all pretty formulaic stuff, but the formula works so well so why change it? Percussion and bass builds into the choral breakdown, which brings in a superbly happy synth that carries on the chorus for us. It's exactly the sort of thing you'd want to hear at the end of a night, so you go home with a huge smile on your face. Great work from those reliable Cellection boys again.
Rating:
A great package from the ever-consistent Cellection quarters.
