It's a joke if you ask me, it all about money money money, this is why english football is not at the standard it should be because people are more bothered about the image of the premier league than the quality of of english football. Big Names = Big money. Why not concentrate on making big names of english players with the stupid amounts of money clubs already have instead of spending 20 million on an overseas player then selling him for 5 million 2 years later when they realise he never adapted to the english game. Its not the World Series for f**ks sake, leave that to the americans(no offence) and bring our game back.

Please show your support against this happening here......

yeah im far from keen on the idea myself

Yep its a disgrace and a complete sell-out

Its damaging English football and alienating thousands of working class football fans, who were the lifeblood of football, backing there clubs now being priced out by competition to make the Premiership a global brand with global players

I'm a Forest fan and in League 1 its costs me over £20 to watch them against Carlisle on a Tuesday night......i feel sorry for those who support premiership clubs and with this sort of imaging it will only drive things like ticket prices up

As Ferguson has said, no manager was consulted, only chairman. Its all about money, not the beautiful game. Crazy idea. We have the best league in the world watched by the most people because of the players and the fans. A game abroad would be a joke. It might bring in a lot of money, but pointless.

Only thing I could think of was maybe the winner of the FA Cup and Winner of Carling Cup play a Super Cup abroad.

What an absolute joke!
I agree it's all about money! Everything is these days.

Its completely rediculous IMO. It will only serve to make the beautiful game like american football. And thats not a sport, its a business in which the game has become sterile. 123thumbdown.gif

Your all just worried cos you know the Villa would kick all your asses in front of billions of people tongue.gif

OK seriously, yep I agree, infact the whole game of football has become quite a joke hasnt it, driven by the £ sign instead of decent football. Gone are the days where I would get the train from Tamworth to Villa park, have a few pints, watch the match, probably a fight on the way home ( jk lol tongue.gif ) and all for about £20. To do the same now costs me atleast £50 - 60 and thats taking it steady.

The last match I went to at villa park cost me £31 for the ticket and £7.62 for the train journey... and everytime I go we fookin loose lol. The sport has got worse and worse throughout the past decade and its all down to the Fat Cat bosses and money grabbing players, ok I know some of them do deserve a decent pay, but jeeeeez.. taking the premiership into europe is only another obsurd way for the chairmen to gather millions more £ to lign thier fat pockets and justify higher ticket prices.

Ggrrr.. i guess we could rant over this for days/weeks years... but probably not over a few pints and a burger at the local footy ground !!

Tamworth Lambs FC have benefitted from my working class pound over the last 3 seasons instead of squandering it into the fat cats pockets at Villa park, the only problem is even down at the bottom of the league pit, tamworth loose each week too haha !! I cant win !

Dang ! Back to work, sry for the outbirst lol.

It's a shocking idea purely driven by the greed of fat cat chairmen looking to cash in on the success of the Premier League, and at the same time will surely alienate the English fans that have contributed to making it the success it is?! You only have to look at how many games are no longer kicking off at 3pm to see how the league is being exploited so that the game can be watched worldwide ranting.gif

No disrespect here, but how many fans would you get going to watch Derby vs Fulham in Dubai?!

No doubt the Premiership chairmen will press on with this idea, completely ignoring their existing customers that have parted with so much money to watch their favourite teams week in week out - the amount of money and greed is rapidly destroying the game sad.gif
Nick
Glad to hear that Officials in both America and Asia have come out against the ideas.......they care about their domestic game unlike the fatcats in our FA

What an absolute nonsense of a plan. If nothing else it proves that the Premier League has no conscience!

League One's where it's at anyway, at least it's interesting. Sc**thorpe won it last season and were 66-1 in August at the start of the season. In League One right now, there are 11 points separating 4th from 17th - in the Premiership (where there are 4 fewer teams remember) there are 25 points separating 4th from 17th. Where's the fun in a league when it's only about who comes 4th and who doesn't get relegated?

good point lazarus, im a northampton town loyalist and enjoy league footy more cos its about football and not money, the teams go ou to play to impress to further their careers but.........

when they do and if they make it to premier level, they get sucked in to the money game and the quality starts to vanish.

i read last week that cappello has scouts watching the championship and he stated he would bring championship players ino the england squad and drop anyone in their place if he was impressed by them.

i think this could be good as it will give players with passion a chanced but then it may also be bad because of lacl of experience but it is a good sign of cappello's want for glory and to bring the england teamback o a team who wants to play not a team that expects to play....... or its just a media spin to gain popularity lol

To be honest, I'd have preferred to have gotten the 6 points off Leeds already, but we're gonna have to wait til April now wink.gif biggrin.gif
