The venue is one of the best I have been too, so original and a lot to explore with a HUGE main room with plenty of room to dance and not hot in the slightest.
Was a bit wary of the line-up as I am not the greatest fan of most tech-trance, but I think a lot of the DJ's managed to get it just right.
Menno De Jong was on first, playing some quality tunes right from the off, starting with more electeo influenced tracks before building up into some trancier stuff. First State - Falling, Alex Kunari - Lifter & In Petto's 2008 Remix of Toca Me a couple of the tracks which got a nice reaction. Shame he was on first really but the venue had filled up nicely for him and he did a classic set in Room 2 later on in the night which I caught a bit of.
Marcel Woods was ok to start with but I soon found his style repetitive, he did pick up for the last half hour opting to play a lot of his own productions, Advanced, Cherry Blossom & his remix of Greece 2000 being some of them.
Marco V on top form as usual. Always nice to hear a wide selection of his tunes as well as they are guaranteed floor fillers. He was blatantly loving it which showed through the energy of his set, the nice combination of playing More Than A Life Away before dropping straight into Automanual was also a nice touch.
Sander Van Doorn was quite good, playing a lot his own productions as well (a running theme with a number of the DJ's it looks like) didn't see all of his set though as I went to the classics arena some point during his set, a lot of people i spoke to did go on to say they thought his set was the best of the night for them.
Riley & Durrant filled in before Jules for a while when he was late and played a few Deadmau5 tracks which went down nicely.
Jules played a number of good tunes but overall was gash, awful mixing and blatant attempts to rip off Eddie Halliwell's style with the scratching and looping, but to no affect at all. He did play Dubfire - Roadkill (EDX Acopulco at Night Remix) which sounded mint, and his new tune Laid Bare - not so good.
Don't really rate John OO Fleming, not my style at all so went too the classics arena, great to hear a number of great tunes which you will only hear in arenas like this;
Lost Witness - Happiness Happening
Above & Beyond - Sky Falls Down
Svenson & Gielen - Twisted
Riley & Durrant - Neon Eyes
GTR - Mistral
William Orbit - Adagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten Remix)
Li Kwan - Point Zero (Kuffdam & Plant Remix)
Mekka - Diamondback
these are just a small sample of some of the great tunes which got played.
Got back into the main arena in time for Armin, but (who i thought was Marco V at the time) was mixing at this point, it may have been John OO Fleming though, whoever it was had a lot of charisma about them and was playing some hard tunes (would have described it more as techno at the time than anything else, I was spangled tho). This set had me dancing like a loon anyway.
Armin was on late (6-8) but only turned up at about half 6, watched him for an hour and he was good, played Summer Blush, Deep Psychosis, Who Will Find Me, Big Sky amongst others.
My head is still in tatters though, was a massive session and a much needed let off of some steam
Overall a cracking night and will defo be making the trip down for the one in March - Ferry, Schulz, Hardwick, Orkidea, Halliwell. WOOP!!
