Full On Ferry, The Masquerade -- 27-10-2007, Ahoy' Rotterdam

Saturday the 27th of October it was time for the first Ferry Corsten solo concert!
We had high expectations, but it turned out to be a nice event which could have done much better than we expected...

Although I shot some nice pics this night I want to share with ya all wink.gif

Looks really cool (really wanted to go!) but I don't really understand your comment... does that mean the event exceeded your expectations, or was just okay?

My expectations were too high which made the event not what I expected it would be, so was a bit dissapointed afterwards smile.gif

I absolutely loved it! I loved the whole concept which really broke the night up nicely I thought.

Whenever I've been to gigs and a DJs been on for say 6 hours you get the odd lull in the night. Whereas when they play for 1.5 hours you stay interested throughout. So I thought the back to back setup was good because it kept you constantly interested and it was contstantly changing.

But anyway, apart from that, OMG Galaxia! smile.gif

Not only OMG Galaxia! ... OMG Out Of The Blue biggrin.gif

Btw, reading from all the reactions you can definately see (in my opinion) that we Dutchies are spoiled with so many big events, all the complaints that are around come from Dutchies only, the foreigners are so freaking excited about the event!

To me it was a great night biggrin.gif

Yeah you are all spoiled! But then again Holland is like trance's back yard!

Then why is it so hard to get yourself lined up at some event....??

They always pick the same 'big' names to play, there's def not enough trance out here to give new people a chance! And that's not because I want to be playing on an event, it's just the truth... sad.gif
AntSmith
Really? I thought it would be the other way round! Lots of little bars with some dj hammering out the trance.

Over here we started out own night just so we could play. Maybe you should try that too!

it's a bit lame actually... holland is (imo) the biggest trance country in the world, just check all the massive producers and stuff that are coming from our small little country! there are not just big names out there, check the Luminosity events coming up, Intuition always giving new people a chance... to US guys like Fine Taste etc are big names but for the outside world they're definately NOT. The reason they pick the same names over and over is because those are the names that people want to see and get the place sold out! Nowadays everybody needs to be producing and score a big hit before you get yourself into the 'bigger' events... name me one dj nowadays that is DJ'ing all over the place and did NOT have several hit records on his name? There isn't any!

It is very hard to get yourself at an event but that's just because of the massive overkill of trance dj's here in the Netherlands, the rest of the world is watching at trance the way we did 6 years ago! If trance is not big in holland then how do you explain Trance Energy, Armin Only, Elements of Life and Full on Ferry all (almost) being sold out!

We're just to spoiled with trance over here and new genres like house and electro are gaining so much in popularity that trance is becoming a little bit less in the picture...

Believe me, that's part of the overkill overhere! There are just too many partys every weekend!

The last guy I can remember who made it without producing is Eddie Halliwell. But then again I don't really like his style!
PegaSus
