Hey all,

I think it's time to make a newsletter again to keep the ppl a bit arround here smile.gif

When ?
I think it's the best to post newsletters at thursday, we also can promote our shows etc. in it then wink.gif

What to post in it ?

about the UKTA Wiki

some important livesets which are available

lineup for the weekend: what are the most important member shows on the internet radio and who are the guests.

Maybe it's also nice to notify where do the UKTA celebs play this month.... I mean ppl like Niklas Harding who are contributing to the forums (being (constructive) active and link exchange could be required).

These are just some ideas, i think some other input would be nice too smile.gif
Nick
If its Thurday then a reminder about a live updated tracklist for GDJB & ASOT, also who is guestmixing on the Showcase in the coming weeks and about the exclusive mixes for the site thumbsupsmileyanim.gif
thijsje
that's a nice one too smile.gif

so a perfect timing would be wednesday evening or thursday morning smile.gif

maybe it's also a nice one to pay some attention on ukta reviews.... with a little bit of force (so a kind request) to the recordlabel to add us to the links smile.gif

You mean friday? If you want an updated tracklist of ASOT you have to wait until friday me thinks?

jup, we better invite them to come arround the forum and talk about the actual asot instead of give them a quick look on the playlist wink.gif

I am thinking towards Wednesday lunchtime / afternoon to release the newsletter (we have Corsten's Countdown on Wednesdays).

Also have a couple more sets to upload then I will release the full GDJB Ibiza Summer Sessions pack for the download area. Should hopefully tempt a few people to visit. smile.gif

Uploaders, I am wondering maybe if it would be cool that each week we offer like a mini pack of sets to download for a certain artist? Say for example the "Paul Van Dyk Vonyc Sessions" pack or something along those lines. We could highlight this in the newsletter, do a little profile or link to the wiki with the DJs profile in it, grab his upcoming tour dates and offer the downloads.

But as most of you said, the main thing we want out of this primarily is to build our liveset tracklist discussion audience, so it makes it worthwhile for people making the effort to TL shows live.

And out goes the first one... let me know what you think guys. smile.gif
thijsje
Didn't read yet (was at school) but noticed i could read the html codes too unsure.gif
Turbotrance
Good work on the newsletter Guys, but it came as just a load of text all together with the html code, unreadable unfortunately
thijsje
maybe you can test it tonight and resend it ?
ImpactPlayaz
I have tried testing it twice now. I wrote it originally with full HTML tags and in the preview it looked fine. But when I got it in my inbox all the HTML tags were there and not showing the pics or links properly.

Then I rewrote it using the Invision code and it was a distaster. So I stopped the mailer from sending it out to thousands.

Need Fly to show me what I am doing wrong then we should be good to go. Sorry about this guys, still learning the system. smile.gif

Well the guest access to the GDJB sets crashed the server, reset now and restricted access to members only at least until the initial rush.

posting bundles seem better. I posted most, if not all, of the summer sessions. The single sets never really took off. But the bundle seems to be the business. Could this be the way ahead???????
Fly
Yes and no, sharing 4 gig of music in one go has seen a 100gig of bandwidth eaten up in 3 days. So yes bundles are the way forward, but not too big, max of 3 or 4 sets I would recommend.

The one thing I would prefer to do with sets is that we share the source versions if possible, not streamrips. I can get the source versions of Global DJ Broadcast, but only one week after the show airs because we must respect the show airing on several FM affiliates worldwide.

Generally, for scene releases you find on the web, if it includes the letters SBD, then it indicates that it is a source version.

However, taking into Fly's suggestion, I think it wouldn't do any harm to make a compilation for say a weekly radio show for one month, for example, all PvD's Vonyc Sessions for October 2007. Packs do appeal because there are people out there who do not wish to search the web so many times to get as many sets of their favourte DJs as possible.
