Event: Sunrise Festival 2007
Place: Amphitheatre at Kolobrzeg, Poland
Date: 20th-22nd July 2007

Introduction
It’s Thursday 19th July, at 20:15 I got on the train. Thank god it was late because I almost missed it. tongue.gif After 13-hour trip I finally arrived at Kolobrzeg and headed to my apartment. I met with my room mates and took a fresh shower. Later I went to the gates of the festival and got my pass. At 15:00 I attended the press conference to get some information about the festival and when it was over I walked around the venue to check the two stages and see final preparations before the show. Back in my room again, Niklas sent me a message that he had arrived at his hotel.
Yes, finally I could see him and shake his hand. I moved to the hotel and met Niklas in a restaurant. Later we headed to his room /no details/ haha wink.gif
He signed a few autographs for me and played some new promo tracks. After watching stupid German TV we left the hotel and went to the festival to get Niklas’ badge. We came back to hotel and waited for James, Niklas’ manager. He's a great guy. I can't forget his story about many fit girls he has seen during his trip. smile.gif After 20:00 our trio finally showed up at the festival. But not for long, we got back and went to the city centre looking for an ATM to get some cash. After our 'quest' we all took a seat at Vip area on the Moon Stage and we listened to the show.

Friday (July 20th)
21:00
I didn’t enjoy the first hour, it was still early and Erick E played unknown tracks for me. I haven’t felt the vibe yet. But he definitely had a good contact with the crowd and people enjoyed his performance. Later 13 dancers appeared on stage so I wasn’t bored at all. smile.gif I stood up at end of his set when he span Bart Claessen's Playmo. It always works good on big sound system. I felt that the party has just begun.

22:30
I watched the introduction and Lucca appeared on stage. She has received a warm response from the crowd. People were clapping and shouting her name. She span some good electro tunes during her set and it was a good warm-up before Marcus Schossow. I wish she had a great time just like the audience, because she looked like she only did her job. Overall it was a good set and I was glad to see her.

Niklas and James

Before midnight we went to the Sun Stage in amphitheatre too see Marcus who was a special guest of that night. We caught him at backstage and had a drink. He’s really nice and funny guy, it was a pleasure to meet him.

Mr White himself

0:00
At midnight spectacular fireworks display began and 5 minutes later Marcus started his set with Mr White Remix. I listened to his performance from backstage and watched him having fun behind the decks. When he span LR - Shizzle Nizzle the crowd went mad, and me as well. Whole amphitheatre was full!
After a great dose of electro we came back to the Moon Stage for Marco V.

1:30
Marco played his usual stuff, both electro and tech-trance. As always his act was accompanied by great visualizations. Lasers were moving all the time. Even if you don’t enjoy Marco V sound, you will love to see him live with all the lights on. Shame on me that I can’t remind most of the tunes he played. smile.gif
Mojado - Kaktus
Sander van Doorn – Riff
U2 - Beautiful Day (Remix)
Marco V - False Light

3:00
Giuseppe Ottaviani appeared on stage. I’m not into uplifting trance so I wasn’t looking forward to his set to be honest. But I was wrong and he really surprised me. It was live-act and he played lead melodies on keyboard. I was impressed! I enjoyed the whole set even if I couldn’t name most of the tracks he played. I think it was the most interesting performance that night.

4:00
I went to the Sun Stage to listen to Jose Amnesia, unfortunately without Jennifer Rene. She couldn’t come to Poland because her flight was canceled due to bad weather. A big loss!
But I had a great night after all.

Before 5:00 our trio left the venue. Niklas and James headed to their hotel, I got back to my apartment. Time to rest.

Saturday (July 21st)
20:00
I came to the second day of festival and I joined Niklas and James at Moon Stage.

After a while we moved to the amphitheatre because it was Niklas' time to give a show. I filled up with drinks and waited impatiently for the start.
Last 5 minutes seemed to last forever.

21:30
Typical Sunrise intro and finally Niklas shows up on stage \o/
He started with older track and people loved that. After first break everyone was dancing. And I wasn’t surprised at all because Niklas is a good entertainer. He was jumping at every kick and had a great contact with the crowd. It was a funny view when Niklas played the guitar during Umbrella break. Later on I danced like mad and I’m glad that other people enjoyed his set as much as I did. Unfortunately his time was coming to an end, but there was still one track left …
What track would be perfect to finish the set and make me crazy?
ICE BEACH!! wub.gif
That was priceless experience!
I can’t remember much from that time except Niklas threw several promo livesets into the crowd.
A pity Niklas was given only an hour.

Röyksopp - What Else Is There? (Trentemoller Remix)
Daft Punk - Harder, Faster, Stronger (Deadmau5 Remix)
Steve Angello & Sebsatian Ingrosso - Umbrella (Marcus Schossow Remix)
Roland Klinkenberg Featuring DJ Remy - Mexico Can Wait
Marcus Schossow - Mr White
Wamdue Project - King of My Castle (Sander Van Doorn Vocal Mix)
Alex M.O.R.P.H. vs. Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary
ID – Kill me, I don’t remember what it was rolleyes.gif
Niklas Harding Presents Arcane - Ice Beach

After James took me from the dance floor we went with Niklas to the Moon Stage to watch Johan Gielen.

22:30
It was first time I saw Johan and I must say he’s hilarious guy. Most of the time I just enjoyed watching him while he was playing with the crowd. He was moving around the stage, jumping in the dj booth, waving with lighter. Definitely he was there for all the people gathered on the dance floor.
He played mostly old hard stuff known from his previous sets but I can’t complain. I had a great time with James when Johan span Take Me Away. biggrin.gif

Evermore - It's Too Late (Dirty South Remix)
Underworld - Born Slippy (Remix)
Airscape - Sosei (Johan Gielen Remix)
Three Drives - Greece 2000 (Remix)
4 Strings - Take Me Away (Mac Zimms Remix)

0:00
Another midnight, another fireworks show. It was awesome!
At 0:05 real banger appeard on stage, Ferry Corsten. For an hour and half the Moon Stage was filled with characteristic electro influenced trance. I was surprised when he span remix of Sunhump, it was nice to hear it again.
The dance floor was really crowded at that time and it was hard to get to the vip area. As soon as I got there Beautiful came in. After a year I changed my mind about that tune. It does sound beautiful and it looked beautiful accompanied by those big lasers. One of the moments which I won’t forget.

Marcus Schossow - Mr White (Ruben De Ronde Remix)
Dubfire - Roadkill (Breakfast Remix)
Viridian - Sunhump (Breakfast's Richard Durand Bootleg Remix)
Super8 & Tab - Suru
Breakfast - The Sunlight
Ferry Corsten - Beautiful (Original Extended Mix)
Ferry Corsten - L.E.F
Sander van Doorn - Riff
Ferry Corsten - Brain Box
Ferry Corsten - Junk (Flashover Mix)

I don't know him tongue.gif

1:30
But there was still more to come as Eddie Halliwell was next. I always wanted to see him live. He’s a small fella but he possesses lots of energy. If he is behind the decks, I can enjoy uplifting trance.
When he played Greece 2000 in Marcel Woods Remix I was insane. What a monster tune it is!
And later Netherworld Remix! Beautiful visualization and the atmosphere was awesome!
In the end he span Traffic. When I heard it I already knew that people would go nuts. Eddie did one of his live EFX edits. Some people loved it, other just hated it. And of course he jumped into the crowd like last year. He’s a real maniac. biggrin.gif

Three Drives - Greece 2000 (Marcel Woods 2007 Remix)
L.S.G. - Netherworld (Oliver Prime Remix)
Alex M.O.R.P.H. vs. Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary (MEKK Remix)
Tiesto - Traffic (DJ Montana 12” Edit)

3:00
I listened to Matt Darey’s set but I didn’t pay much attention to tracks he played. I’ve been too exhausted.

Later I even couldn’t enjoy Bart Claessen.
I found Niklas and we decided to go home. We left the festival and we had to say goodbye. sad.gif

When I woke up on Sunday it just started raining and it was windy so I didn’t attend the afterparty on the beach. Bad weather spoiled the day. Sunrise was over.

Final Thought
It was a wonderful weekend. It was my first open-air event and I loved it.
Before the festival I heard some negative opinions about it, but after being there by myself I can’t complain about anything.
My best event this year.

Sound: Loud and clear. I could feel tingling on my belly.
Venue: The Moon Stage was great. Lots of lights, 4 big lasers and 3 huge screens.
Fireworks: Massive! New Year’s Eve in the middle of year.
Atmosphere: Just perfect!

Nice review and superb pics. Those TL don't look that good though. Far too much of a techfest for me.
