Calling all Northerners and anyone that's been to Newcastle recently!!

I'm heading down this weekend for my b-day and am looking for ideas as to where it's happening in the Toon, pub and club wise! (not trance specific).

Have been before but about 4 years ago so any suggestions welcome? biggrin.gif

Cheers

Firstly, Happy Birthday mate!

It's about a year since i've been up to Newcastle, at the time I was often spending the latter part of most weeks working up there, so of course we would end up going out on the Thursday and Friday nights! biggrin.gif

We'd often end up in the bars around Newgate Street, starting off in Tiger, Tiger - eventually ending up in the Blue Bar a bit further down the road! Typical bars and clubs that you will find in most UK cities, always seemed to be full of totty aswell biggrin.gif

Whatever you do, avoid the Goldschlaeger in Sam Jacks! Ended up with far too many hungover Friday mornings after being coaxed into drinking that stuff laugh.gif

Anyways, hope you have a great weekend! smile.gif

Funny you say this mate, I might be going either next week or the one after to lose my own Newcastle virginity!

Been a few times, but mostly hit the bars rather than clubs as such. Went to go Shindig but it was too late to get in when i got there becasue we spent a couple hours lost walking around in a right state.

basically ive been no help, sorry.

Damn wish i saw this topic before what with me living in newcastle for nearly all my life! Anyway i know its too late now but i really do hope you avoided The Bigg Market... from past experience its probably one of the worst places to drink - full of chavs, silly little drunk teenagers and middle aged women p*ssing in doorways....lovely! 123thumbdown.gif

Anyway, aside that, i hope you had a great time, Ive not been around Newcastle for about a year now! sad.gif

Hehe, no worries Jen. Ended up having a blast in Newcastle. The Fri was a bit of blur for me, I was in a right mess!!

Sat we ended up in Digital which just happened to be round the corner from our hotel so that was handy for getting home wink.gif

Didn't go to the Bigg market or the Quayside this time, we kinda hung about The Gate and not too far from our hotel (lazy bast***s) laugh.gif

I remember very little of my time in the Quayside pubs last weekend biggrin.gif

Although I do remember that big green sign on the Lowry museum laugh.gif
