So the time has come for the start of the 2007 FIA Formula One World Championship! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

What's everyone's thoughts on this years Championship? Personally I think that there is every chance of being an open race for the title this year - Alonso's class is undoubted but will he be able to reproduce his Renault form for McLaren? Will Raikkonen succesfully fill the void left by Schumacher? What does everyone think of the rookies coming into the competition this year?

Here is a run down of the teams, drivers and calendar for the season, wasn't there an F1 Fantasy League set up on here last year? Maybe we could get one set up again if there's enough interest? Anyways, interested to see what everyone's thoughts are! smile.gif

Cheers for merging the topics Eve, I wasn't sure who had made it first - great minds must think alike! biggrin.gif

If i'm pushed to name who who I think has the strongest chance of winning the title this year it would be Kimi! Great start for Lewis Hamilton too, 4th place in qualifying for your first ever F1 race is some achievement! smile.gif

The next race is the Malaysian Grand Prix, which is this Sunday! smile.gif

Ferrari are having a few problems with engine reliability at the moment, I think Massa had to change his engine rior to the first race in Melbourne? Fingers crossed they can pull through!

he broke his leg

i guess you have to be happy with that considering what could have happened in that nasty smash

Yeah .. that was very violent crash, kind of a miracle that Kubica is quite ok smile.gif

Today Kubica come out from Hospital and He isn't have a broken leg. That was a very bad situation for us from poland. Regards

Kubica only has a concussion and a sprained ankle
He is really lucky if you look at the impact.
This really proofs the safety of these cars nowadays.
He would have been killed if the cars still had been like the year Senna died ohno-smiley02.gif

On first sight the Kubica crash looked horrific, thankfully he has only come out with concussion and a broken leg which is pretty amazing considering the kind of impacts that must occur when crashing at that speed blink.gif

It was good to see Lewis Hamilton claim his first victory - as big a Ferrari fan that I am, it's always nice to see fellow Brits doing well smile.gif

Hamilton is a great racer already, he is going to be one of the British Greats I think.... Well Done, his dad must be soooo proud, I like it when they interview and show his father, he looks dead chilled out usually, that is until he witnessed his son win his first podium No.1 smile.gif

Kubica was a very very lucky man, that crash was spectacular !

After the Monaco race, which McLaren dominated, I expected to see the two Mclaren cars on the top again in Canada but Alonso was a little bit unlucky. Fortunately, Massa was disqualifed from the race thumbsupsmileyanim.gif ..
