I was having this debate at work today, but no one could really decide.

I would say they are cakes, but then why are they with the biscuits in shops?

Jaffa Cakes are classed as cakes , but due to their size and high number per packaging, shops generally stock them within the biscuit section

lol i had to check that wiki link, didn't know what they were .. well nobody makes them here but you can get some imported ones .. i know the Mc Vities' ones and another ones made in Germany but don't remember the name .. have to say i love them

I was just thinking the exact thing, they are called Jaffa 'Cakes' hence they are cakes...surely??

They look like cookies for me .. so i would call them that way
