I'm regularly getting logged out of the site, when I try to access the site I need to login again.

Happens using both Firefox and IE, anyone else getting this?

Yeah this is happening to me too, and sometimes the login page never fully loads so I don't get the "Log Me In" button all the time - I have to shut Firefox altogether and try again a few times before I can log in sad.gif

If you use firefox and then internet explorer it will log you out, as it uses a session system that keeps you on the same session for about 6 days, unless you use a different browser, or ip and then you would need to login again.

So if you use a computer at home, and one at work, or 2 at home you would need to login each time you swapped over.

The reason for this is security, otherwise people can get hold of your cookie and login as you. Obviously not that major for the average user, but a lot more serious for mods and me.

That solve anyones problems? I personally am not having any problems logging in using internet explorer and firefox on 2 different ip addresses, and 3 different computers. But may also find your cookie management deletes cookies after you close the browser, again for security reasons, so check out your settings.

I use Firefox at home and IE 6 at work but never swap sessions on either PC.

I've never had issues before Fly, not until after the latest upgrade!

Can you give me more detail so I can report it to the support desk. For example how often an hour it logs out. If you have closed the browser, what browser your using when it happens. If your using the same computer on the same browser window without closing it, and it happens, etc.

I can look into it further then biggrin.gif

It happens using both browsers and as I say I use the same browser on each PC, i.e. Firefox at home and IE 6 at work. I'd say I login about 4 times a day, twice using each browser.

I see it's happening to more people so there must be an issue?!

P.S. I've seen it happen with other forums using the same software wink.gif

There is an upgrade that i may need to carry out to fix this issue.

Using the forum over 4 different computers and not having any problems at all.
Fly
If your using internet explorer. Please can you try something for me.

Add uktrancealliance.com to your trusted site list, then set that security to low.

Let me know if that helps any login problems.

Does seem to be a compatibility issue with the later browsers. Although I am not having any issues.

Will be trying to do the latest update, but would mean redoing all mods, so would take me some time.

To be honest, that sounds like a problem with your work computer/browser/network.

I've been having to log in every day though, I'm using Firefox on MacOS X.

It does seem to be an issue with the cookie management. Seems like the cookie is expiring, causing the login problems. Which is why the trusted site thing may help, or for the security level to be changed for low risk sites.
