Well, my first car was a Honda Accord (really of my dad), there was automatic. Next I drive for a little time a Nissan Murano (very, very great), but automatic too.
Actually I have a Peugeot 206 RC, at least standard. I think that nothing can compare with the standard transmission, simply the best. You have the power of your car in the hands
What do you think about?

Although I am only a 3 days old driver, I think the standard transmission rulzzzz. The automatic car is just for those who don't like/know to drive or women.
With the standard transmission, indeed, you have the power of your car in the hands. And with this power, there are many things you are able to do.

Most of the time I'm driving a standard transmitted car
But once drove an Audi A4 station wich was automatic and it was a super drive for me

I prefere standard to automatic. But new cars have excellent auto clutches, so may change in the future.
Also add a poll.

Manual, not contest.
Driving an automatic does not require any skill at all and also takes some of the fun out of driving IMO.

the best is of course manual. i think the act of changing gears and playing with the clutch is so....
bah too bad i'm rubbish at it. probably due to lack of practice.

Well, I've never driven an automatic so can't really say.
However, I'm lazy, and hence I can't see why, if automatic gearboxes are possible, why anyone would want a manual anyway.
If someone invented a lawnmower that cut the lawn on its own, I'd want one, as I'm sure would everyone else on the planet. So why don't people want a car that changes gear on its own?
Maybe I've just spent too long driving on the PS2 and not enough time in a real car...

Manual by a country mile!
Automatics can be nice smooth drives as some have said but unless you're a lazy bar steward it has to be manual!!!

Manual without doubt!!!!!!!!!
Iīve been driving since I was really young, (yes... yes.... without driving license because I didnīt have the proper age

PLEASE DONīT TELL THE POLICE!!!).
The first thing I drove was a motorcycle, at the age of 8 years old, the motorcycle was big and I couldnīt put my feets on the ground. And YES, that was my first motorcycle accident....

I have driven from motorcycles to trucks, all manual obviously. Automatic Itīs a kind of boring....
Sequential gearbox RULESSSSSS!!!!!!

I think that semiautomatic, is also great, but I never have the chance to try it.
