We are up to one of the biggest competitions in the history of UKTA
This will take part of the whole year 2007 in wich we choose our Tune of the Year for 2007.

It will be different and I hope everyone will participate.

People can discuss the whole contest here so the nomination poll can stay for nominees only to keep it easier for us 3 to

so basicly the nominees have to be released officially? so no demo material or bootlegs and such are allowed?

I dont see why we cant use bootlegs

I can hardly imagine lots op people voting on something unreleased, as nobody might know it.

no release date, kinda hard to know which month it belongs? in the rules section it had a part saying that you need to post a link where to buy the track when making nominees, that's why i asked

and to warmonger, if you post a link where to download/listen to those demos/bootlegs then everyone can hear them and make their vote based on that. same as with those released tracks, i'm atleast going to listen every nominee on audiojelly/beatport/whatever site if i haven't heard them

On topic now: I think it is a lot easier to stick with actual releases... although it can be anoying if a track is one of your favorites of the year and it´s not released yet, but will in 2008 for example...

Why don't you allow nominations up to a week after the end of the month. Then it gives all tracks in that month a chance.

Same here. The quality of releases in the last few weeks hasnt been all that good. As is usually the case over the festive period.

You have to pick your own Top 3 of the month.
But all the tunes that you choose have to be released within this month.
Check the rules if you still have any questions then, feel free to ask

no that was just an example how it will happen. now you'll need to nominate tracks for the vote in the january thread. after that the nominees are put on similar groups as in addict-in-trance's post and then we vote them.

btw we should definitely get clips for all the nominees before we start voting, otherwise the most known track will win.

thanks for the competiton, great way for me to get to know about more artists, i decided i should broaden my horizons instead of just listening to trance via armin van buuren's a state of trance

this shouldn't be a problem, most clips are found on artist websites / myspace pages, or records stores like juno.co.uk, and naturally all download stores..

But I was thinking............12 tracks in 1 poll is too much to get a good result.
Maybe I split the 12 tunes into 2 polls and then the winner of those 2 in a new and final vote ?
The tunes will be placed in 2 polls with the tunes won in the monts 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 & 11 in 1 poll
and the other months in a 2nd poll.

i really think the whole idea would have worked a lot better if the nominees actually were nominees and not votes. and then we would have made a new vote thread for 5-10 tracks most nomineed and with clips.

people now nominate tracks and then the track with the most points is the winner.
If we give a nomination and have to choose 10 tracks per month where people can vote about, then it will take a lot more work.
And in February we had to be happy to have 10 tracks.
and people don't have 1 favourite every month.
Therefore I chose for this option

At the end of the year all the 12 winners will be in 1 final poll.
So people can vote once
