Unfortunately i have decided that we can not meet the expectations of both myself and the producers for the UKTA Digital Label.

We will not be adding anymore tracks to the label. Unless under special circumstances, like a comp, etc.

All tracks currently available will carry on to be, unless the producer would like them to be removed.

And when producers earn over £25 i will pm and send out a cheque.

Maybe when i have more time in the future or we have a large demand we can bring back the label.

I apologies for any inconvenience this decision may cause. And as always if you have questions please feel free to contact me.

Oh, it's a bad news. sad.gif

Well, there're those "special circumstances" yet. It could make competitions more serious and producers will try their best as it's the only way to be released under UKTA label now.

Hopefully there'll be some successful tunes from compos that will make you change your mind in future.

Bad. But you're right, it doesn't work.

Another great idea has fallen :/...

I will have a look into working with a more established label to try and get our unsigned tallent heard by a wider audiance biggrin.gif

I feel sorry that I'm partly guilty of this sad.gif
I didn't have the time to do it

Wanna tell the story from my side too

There has happened a lot with the label past months, but what we have tried simply didn't work out in some very important things

1. There weren't really much real talented artists with submissions. Honestly I liked a lot of submits, but there were a lot technical things wrong in submits which are not allowable at demo level. Yes, I didn't forget we would never become like Armada, but a bit of base is quite important
2. There was a little bit support, but without the real good submissions is it also quite hard to get support somewhere

I personally don't have the time anymore to arrange any things for it anymore, as there are gonna change some structural things in life for me (gonna start a new study etc.) so that was the reason for me to stop working for the label, also running the djmix compo.

Hope I informed you enough smile.gif

Sad news sad.gif

Just wanna say well done to everyone who was involved with this. It was a near impossible task, and there was some great heads working on it ... the reason it didn't work out was not anyone's fault here, so no blame should be attributed (as I see it anyway).

Since the label's on hold, I think I'll probably put the roadshow on hold too (since it's purpose was to promote the label ... difficult to do that without new tracks wink.gif ). I'm thinking maybe just one more show ... playing everything that was released on the label in a 2 hour non-stop mix (do we have 20 tracks?). Will discuss it with Thijs anyways and decide soon.

Again ... sad news. But it's the right decision I think.

Why don't we close the forum instantly?
Then organize the global UKTA party and commit mass suicide.

If something doesn't work, you should try to fix it, not just surreneder and let things go in their own way.

The reason for putting the roadshow on hold is not because I want it to end ... I'd keep doing it for years yet, even without new tracks ... but I don't want it to become my show, it was always about promoting the label tracks, not about promoting my djing skills tongue.gif

Personally I think that one special show, with a special highlight on the producers/djs from here (I have some ideas in that regard ... more info soon) would be a more effective way of promoting what's there currently than dragging out the show with no new tracks.

I'm open to any ideas though: post up here with any ideas, or drop me a pm if you'd prefer.

I think it's a good idea to make one special show to recap the UKTA digital label (quite short) existence. Also agree that one special event highlighted on producers/djs would be a great promotion. biggrin.gif

But personally I think that it would be a pity to stop the Roadshow. Well, I keep making music as well as others do I suppose. And I'll be happy to send you my tunes and remixes for the Roadshow (I think I wouln't be the only one who'd do it). If the show can't promote UKTA label, it can still promote UKTA site, forum and members. So please think over it once more, I would miss the Roadshow, mate. smile.gif

that's not a bad thing... but then we need to change the format and target a bit and start spinning more tracks from the unsigned area and submits from friends smile.gif

imo we shouldn't change the roadshow to (bi-)weekly or whatever and stay as monthly as I personally wouldn't like to have a second ukta showcase and also not a 100000001st radioshow, but a radioshow to get surprised with adventural music smile.gif

I dont see why the roadshow cant carry on for as long as the forum is here, as producers will continue to produce quality tracks, doesnt matter if they are on the ukta label or not biggrin.gif

And its all well and good saying we should carry on. But if i do something i like to do it properly, and that wasnt possible.

Ok then biggrin.gif We'll do one kickass show to promote the tracks on the label. Seems everyone's in agreement with this anyways. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Thanks man, I appreciate it. smile.gif If you and the other producers keep supplying the tracks, I'll keep doing the show. And long may it continue as such 123clap.gif

Yes, I agree here for certain: the focus of the show will obviously have to change. Where it was before about promoting the label tracks, it can now shift to promoting unsigned tracks from the member producers.

But I think this next special show should retain the original focus, just for one last time. I like very much the idea of trying to play every track from the label, and to make this last show of this format a show that everyone will want to have a copy of. I'd like to get as many people as possible involved in this show, and make it a worthy memory in honour of the ukta label.

Agreed here for certain biggrin.gif I already have a weekly show which keeps me plenty busy, so increasing the frequency of this show isn't something I want to do for the present.

No blame is being attributed here fly. I think everyone agrees that this was the right decision.

So, the roadshow will continue then. Pleased about that smile.gif
As I said above, I want to make the next show something special, and I have some plans in that regard. Will post up about them when they're finalised.

my thanks go to fly, thisje, bricky, addict-in-trance and whoever else was responsible behind the scenes of making the UKTA CD and label a success since the short time it has begun. I know you guys have worked tirelessly to try and produce something that was not easy to do and to just get it off the ground was a massive achievement in itself. I think i speak for myself and Dennis (Phantazm, Sinsure) in saying that we appreciate everything that UKTA has done in the past year for promoting our music.

Thanks
