“Godskitchen nowadays is not just about trance. The Babooshka* room DJ line up is stacked up with a who's who of respected underground house artists.” Quote from flyer.
It’s been 4 whole months since Ferry Corsten played at Godskitchen. From what I gathered from my friends, the New Years Eve event was a complete sell out. Hence, my friend and I decided to reach Air as early as possible. I remember when Armin van Buuren was here 2 months ago, the place was jampacked by 10.30pm. However, this time, I got in at about half 10, it was no where near as busy and Ferry was due to play at 11pm! I’m guessing it’s because there are a few other major trance nights on that very weekend.
Mark Eteson was up first in the main room, getting the crowd warmed up for Ferry. Haha! The one tune that caught my attention was Kyau vs. Albert – Walk Down. It’s hard for me to suppress the giggles whenever this tune comes on. Hahaha! *sorry!
Anyway, I decided to check out the other room where Scarlett Etienne was spinning. I didn’t stay in the room for long but boyyy, was it surprisingly quiet. However! It was not long to wait till Ferry came! As we were walking down the stairs right beside the booth ( Gods regulars would know
Ferry did play quite a few new tunes which I was really looking forward to considering his new album is due out in about a months plus time. And I definitely wasn’t disappointed. The dance floor was reasonably packed, not sure where those people came from. Chants of “Ferry Ferry Ferry!” were heard throughout his set which was nice. Lots of his productions were played, as expected, to name a few, Loud Electronic Ferocious (L.E.F.), Cubikated, Punk, Watch Out and Fire. Till now, I still can’t get sick of Punk! We were all humming and “singing” to it! Nice!

3 hours went by in a flash. At 2am, it was Ronald’s turn. He played a fairly hard set which I quite enjoyed. More of Ferry’s productions were played e.g. Fire and Whatever. The highlight for me was definitely when Cold Storage came on, just how powerful is that tune! LOVE IT! Not forgetting, Marcel Woods – Advanced, I could really sense the crowd thoroughly enjoying it! Even Simon Patterson was on the dancefloor!

Simon Patterson started his set with Dogzilla - Your Eyes. nyum!

I was kinda hoping to check out both rooms. Ha! I ended up stucked in the main room for most of the time. And apparently, Desyn Masiello didn't turn up either.
All in all, it was a good night. I kinda expected it to be a lil' much more better. I was even feeling a tad bit disappointed actually. However, after going through the videos I've taken, EEEEK! It wasn't that bad at all!!
