Q: Hi, Alex! Is it your first time in Russia?
A: Yes it’s my first time here.
Q: How do you like this city Saint-Petersburg?
A: I love it! It’s so impressive – the buildings, the streets, the people – really amazing, and i’m really glad to be here
Q: Another one question. You’ve made a lot of remixes recently for Lennox, for Talla2XLC, for Armin and others... What do you like more – make remixes or your own tracks?
A: I think it’s 50-50. I like to remix things I like, I only remix tracks I like. If I like the track I love to do a remix, make my own interpretation of it. And I love to do own tracks, but i try to combine. For me it’s better to be more creative.
Q: Your new track ‘New Harvest’ - when it will be released?
A: Really soon, but I can’t say when.
Q: On Fenology?
A: Right. We will have a remix pack with remixes from Human Blue from Scandinavia, we will have a Mike Shiver remix and Talla2XLC remix.
Q: Talla2XLC – you worked a lot with him. Ho did you meet him?
A: First time i meet him 3 years ago at Ibiza, he plays at Slinky Night in Privelege. It was the first time i get in touch with Talla directly. We changed our phone numbers, we got little bit in touch, called each other saying “Hi, how are you...bla-bla...” And after that we had 3 or 4 meets together and Talla said ‘Maybe we can do something together’, i said ‘Ok, let’s do’. So we started producing together
Q: And another guy Woody Van Eyden – how did you meet him?
A: He’s my best mate, he’s my manager, he’s my brother, he’s all. Met him 7 years ago... no.. 9 years ago, but we are friends in 7 years and he is my best friend.
Q: Was it at your first Love Parade you played?
A: No, we met before... First time we met we came from different sides. I came from acid side, he came from minimal side... we changed our styles and now we are in trance.
Q: Question about A State Of Trance. What do you thing about they moved to DI.FM, ?? now we got to pay for hi-quality streams?
A: I’m a little bit sad about it’s not on ID-T radio anymore. But it’s fault of the radiostation.
And i think DI.FM is the best solution Armin could do. Because if you do it on DI.FM everyone can reach it, maybe not in the best quality, but it’s for all.
Q: Why do you use that alias ‘M.O.R.P.H.’ and not just ‘Morph’? Why that dots?
A: It came from beginning. One of the first records i bought was by Oliver Lieb’s project Spicelab called ‘Amoprh’. And i sayd ‘Hmmm’ i liked ‘Amorph’ alias but i couldn’t use it because of copyrights. And i decided to do Alex as ‘A’ and ‘Morph’ with dots. So it came that way.
Q: You played for so big crowds, for thousands of people. And what was your best event ever?
A: For me it was Trance Energy 2002 in Netherlands, 35 000 people in one hall, for me it was event of my life.
Q: Who do you think is the best producer so far this year?
A: Ha-ha.. Me! (laugh) It’s the funny question. Many good producers right now on the scene. I don’t want to mention just one... so many people, so many new stuff is coming...lot of talents. The one guy i really like from the mastering side it’s Ozgur Can. He is really good in mastering, his sound is so clear, he’s really amazing.
Q: Do you know any Russian produsers?
A: Let me see... Yeah – Bobina, Vadim Zhukov, Sensorica. And Musical Religion – he send me a demo last month, really good.
