im not 100% about what u guys do in terms of promotion, or if you guys
have even thought about the matter, but, the ukta digital releases are virtually going to be bought only by ukta members.
i was thinking, if we promote the digital release section more, i suspect that not
only will the producers be getting more exposure, but the forum will grow. customers could quite possibly sign up to the forum after having bought the tune.
what u guys think?

Not much point in selling something if you don't advertise it ...
So yeah ... I'm 100% in favour of this.

we thought about it indeed

But we are still working on how
I personally, and also most other people have full time jobs. And that means anything we do with this label is in our spare time. Now i am happy to help promote the artists and make this label a full success.
However we will need both the producers and this site to advertise the productions properly. At the moment we send out a newsletter to 17,000 inboxs. And will also advertise around the site.
But if we then started paying for advertising via other means, that would involve costs we would have to reduce the amount paid to the producer.
This is the first time i have done anything like this, and i need time to find my feet. We are in the process of setting things up. But as i say we need time.

Yes advertising is costly. You should talk to the producers and see if they are willing to receive a little less to get there productions ut amongst a larger crowd possibly finding its way to the decks of say PVD or AVB.
Also you could create like the advertising banner for UKTA you could create one for the digital release potion of UKTA and ask members to advertise on other forums with this banner. That would cost you nothing. The only problem is how many members actually use the banner. You should try it though the only thing you lose is time.

i wasn't thinking about pay cuts for producers, i was thinking more in terms
of raising the price for members who pay for more access etc. although adding
more functions etc may make the members feel as if paying a lil more is more worthwhile.
i don't know exactly how much cash this'll raise, but if you try it out Fly for a while,
you'll be able to have a rough idea of how much you can put aside to marketing
the digital release section.

Firstly i want a decent portfolio of tracks before i start spending money and time promoting it. We are only 2 weeks in, give us some time

well me and all the guys at mpfs have full time jobs, but we can still promote our releases hard
its all fun really, there is hardly any money at all in this game unless your at the top and then there is only a little.....
we all do it for the fun and love of music and to see the small new producers get stuff out there
