Full Version: Should We Upgrade The Forum Software?
UK Trance Alliance Forum > Non-Music Forums > Polls / User Voting

well maybe its time we upgrade to invision power board 2.1. It would mean greater security, and hopefully more default features, etc.

I would also need to look for new versions of the arcade mod, review mod, torrent mod and a few more.

So should we upgrade, or is 1.3 good enough?

To be honest i am actually quite happy the way it is but it would be kewl if we could upgrade it biggrin.gif

So i voted yes wink.gif

I don´t see any reason to change it but would be cool to try it out anyway smile.gif
So i vote yes.

An upgrade including upgrading all the mods will probably cost me about £200. So ill have to do some fundraising first biggrin.gif
murkinen
an upgrade sounds cool but it is also unnecessary I think...

if people would donate €200, it is no problem but why not keep this money for the server costs? biggrin.gif
blackened_sky
i don't really see a need to change, but hey maybe the forum will become
more stable smile.gif

I hadn't realised it was unstable.

There's the old saying if it ain't broke...don't fix it.

Unless there's something new and radical that an upgrade will give I vote to keep it as it is. Also the £200 might be better spent on the server / hosting costs.

personally i like the new one. they are stable and much more secure.

if the software is good already then imagine how much better it would be if it was upgraded.

Fundraising would be easy. just have all the active member pitch in 5-10 dollars/euros, and i'm sure by that time we'll have well over enough money to upgrade.
