I am a metal guitarist, but I love trance, Where can I learn all of the processes involved in composing (not mixing, I'm not a dj) trance such as:using software synths, learning harmony and chords, arps... etc

I have owned FLStudio since version one and have only used it to make drum tracks. I also am pretty good with Cubase. Help me out guys, where do I go to find this information, or is there nowhere to start?

first learn how a tune is built; about intro's body's breaks, climaxes and outtro's

then how to sequence something... with basslines, drums etc.

then how to produce the basslines drums synths etc.

it just comes to practice smile.gif

Thanks guys. I could definitely get some great vsti's, and for free at that. Over at KVR-vst they have listed every freekin synth ever made. I have tried messin around with FLStudio, but when I listen to all of these trance tunes and the crazy arppegiator melodies, I wonder how all of this is done. I would love to see a walkthrough or tutorial (I know it sounds funny), but there have got to be some tricks that everyone comes to in one way or another, or some common practices in using chords, or arppegiators and effects. Does anyone know of a forum that might deal wikth this sort of technical/musical side to trance/dance music? Perhaps a composing/producing forum? I have been to FutureProducers.com. It has a ton of traffic, but I got no help there.

Thanks

KVR itself has smile.gif

fl studio producer edition is a good prog to start with and it has quite a few good features the arpegiator thats built in is really powerful I would also suggest the fl studio bible available from cafe press it cost around $30 it has provided me with so much new tricks and stuff i never knew you could do with FL studio.
You could also buy a few monthly magazines called computer music and future music they normally have a few good tutorials and normally cover something to do with trance wink.gif
