Hi, does anyone know of a program or a plugin that can extract vocals from songs so I can use the vocals elsewhere or as acapellas? Any help would be good!
Arctic
Essentially it can't be done, now and then it might be possible to isolate a few via eq, but generally the vocal freqs are sitting in the same 'position' as other parts of the song/music, making it impossible to cut them out.

Your best bet is to search around for an acapella.

check the link out and you know what to do :-) its a tutorial how to make instrumentals...but if you do it the other way you can make acapella's

cheers,

Cheers mate, will give it a go!

well i just read that. It was very informative but wasn't much over what i know, a few more tips. How is it then that all these bootleggers get their vocals? They must actually have the samples!? Further discussion required!

It would be great if we could remove vocals from some songs!!! But that's impossible! We just need to delete vocal samples that were used by artists. How will we do this, except if we have the project file of this song where all things could be removed.

Excactly ... it cannot be done.. If a producer want to make a remix he just askes for the vocals.. Paul Oakenfold has asked Tiesto to remix his Southern Sun (thank God he asked that!! )

Mostly I don't like acapella's
It takes away some parts of the song, although I know that it is done specially for that dry.gif to create a remix

It can be done to some degree in theory although not totally.

If the vocal is over a section of the song where the bassline is duplicated in an earlier or later part of the song to the same key which is pretty typical, then it's a slow process of cutting the vocal bassline part out and replacing it with a copy of the section where the vocal isn't present.

Although this tends to be a very accurate time consuming task it can be done, using SoundForge but you have to be VERY accurate.

My mate has produced his own edit's of remixes where he's minimised the vocal or removed parts of it. BUT it's impossible to do this in the breakdown because it's no duplicated without the vocal at any other point.

Hopefully that was helpful.

that would be nice and i can do my own bootlegs

cheers for input guys, this is just leading me to think that all these bootleggers have a lot more resources than i first thought. Also I think the probability of a big producer giving me full samples is quite low! There must an esay usuable solution though, there always is!!!
djrobbier
ahhhh, but i have seen a misunderstanding (it probably makes no difference) How about gettin rid of the music and leaving the vocal? thats what I'm after
Static
You mean you wish to extract the vocals to use them somewhere else? biggrin.gif

Impossible, that'll sound a bit different anyway.

No it isn't. If the vocal is over the steady consistent keys you get during parts of the song, it's easily possible to replace sections. But it has to be the same tone, the same build, with no alternations.

You can do it 2 seconds at a time if need be to make sure you keep each clip the same. But it really does depend on the song, in whether you can manage it.
