TPR

You're starting of with a really weird opening tune , but oh so nice !
The transition from Life is Steadily breaking my heart to Safari is just wicked.
I totaly dig the style of this mix extraordinary.
And i have to say you have exceptional mixing skills !

Tunes who get boring if you have them on for to long are mixed out
at perfect moments and tunes who deserve to be played all the way are played all the way.
And well Conjure One - Tears from the moon (Hybrid Twisted on Terrace Mix)
is just fantastic.

Nothing but good on this mix !

Akazi

Your set starts of really well
nice transitions between songs , chillout feeling over here !!

nice filter effect on Rene Amesz - That's Jazz
lovely use of Southdrummers-cruz de sol , acapella , it almost sounds if it's the actual song text

nice mixing between, Bart Van Wissen-Electric and Sikha-View 2000
letting the hihats of Sikha-View 2000 , coming up nice and keeping it in the mix for some time !

set has relaxation written al over it, but still funky enough to dance on !
good mixing.

Scratching coming back at Osamu M & Satoshi Frangy-Opalescence (CD-R) , nice wink.gif
I notice that you've put some work into this set , made the necessary preparations !
the end tune is wowie !!

A very good set with good mixing !

Frank Bloom

Opening track is truely a classic....
First thing i noticed when i listend to your transitions is that they are
long , wich i really like , nice work !
So far i like all the track i'm now at track number 4.
And i've noticed your mixing is really slick...
it feels like it doesn't changes songs at all.
That gives the set a really cool touch like a journey...

Almost came to the end of your mix and it has been a real journey.
Your transitions are really cool and the track selection
is excellent.
Very well done mix mate , keep it up !

CJ Milner

The opening tune you've used is excellent !
Your transition from A Tear in the Open to As you fall is really nice.
Really relaxing set with the necessary killer tunes !
Your mix really has alot of vocals in it these determine the atmosphere of the mix alot.
Really nice wink.gif
Mixing skills are still exceptional excellent mixing !

One dislike is that the gain changes to greatly sometimes.
Mixing and tracklist make up for that.

not your best set but certainly not bad !
nice mixing and nice tunes...

DJ Daimond

Due to an ear infection i have i had to listen to you mix with only
one ear , if you think this review isn't right
in some way or isn't doing your mix credit.
Then please say so by PM'ing me.

Your mixes starts of with a nice tune wich sets
the atmosphere for the mix.
Mixing is good and energetic.
Tracklist is good with some powerfull tunes
with alot of melodies.
Good buildup during the mixing and some nice
synergy between tracks.

A good mix with nice tracks excellent CD material.

Loopy

You start of good with a nice opening track.
Then a nice transition from Spacement to Sole Survivor.
After that some beatclashing in your transition from Sole Survivor to Beautifull.

I think you mixing overal is pretty average.
But on the other hand you track selection kinda makes up for that.
And doing a mashup gives your set it's own signature (nice mashup !)

One thing you really have to work on is your beatmatching cause
honestly it's not all that good.
For instance you transition from Lyteo to Now You See is really horrid for me.
Sorry that i have to say so.
And why oh why did you throw in really energetic tunes at the last moment.
It totaly doesn't suit te rest of the mix.
Nice tracklist but work on that beatmatching !

Tommy

Pretty much know all the tracks from your mix.
and they are all really nice tracks.
One thing i notice in your mixing is that your transitions aren't that spectacular.
Just simpel and fast and you have that thing , you let the other tune sorta fade out.
No real mixing to me (my opinion).

The tracklist is good and well as for the buildup that's fairly ok.

DJ Resemo

Due to an ear infection i have i had to listen to you mix with only
one ear , if you think this review isn't right
in some way or isn't doing your mix credit.
Then please say so by PM'ing me.

Excellent opening tune getting right into it !
Going on with some nice tunes.
The tunes you're using are really melodic and
have alot of breakdowns , loving it so far !
Your mixing is a bit short for my liking sometimes.
A good thing about your mixing is that
it's well mixed no beatclashing and it has a constant energy flow.
I hear that later on your mixing get's a little longer, good work.
Your buildup is pretty decent , nothing special.
Your track selection so far is excellent.
Even with one ear it sounds good.

A nice mix overall , nothing fancy just good tracks and decent mixing.

PS: the filter effects were nice wink.gif

SergS

Your set is starting of with nice tunes.
When i took a look at the tracklist i discoverd that i knew every tune on it.
So this mix was quite easy for me to review no need to listen to transitions closely
cause i know all the tunes already.

Your tracklist has a really good selection of tunes and it contains
constant energy troughout the entire set.
It's not the most original tracklist but it works for me.
Your mixing skills are normal nothing special.
And your transitions are good too no beatclashing but they aren't great.

Since i know every tune there is not much to say.
Good job on this ! keep it up.

Zuli

The Opening tune that you're using is really good , get's the flow started !
After the first few songs you get into a nice breakdown with John Tejada - Sweat (On the walls)
Beatmatching between , Blendbrank - Synthetic Symphony and Alter Ego - Beat the Bush (Ewan persons slow NRG edit) was a little off,
but a great transition nevertheless.

I really love the fact that you made an edit of Buick Project's "At the rave".
It sounds good , and it gives the set an even more personal touch.
A huge dislike by me is that "at the rave" seems to have a much lower volume then the tracks before it.
Coming back up with John Dahlback - Who's your daddy is really nice.

And well the end tune is good as well.

All and all , some beatmatching flaws (nothing to big though) ,
good transition overall.
Nice tracklist had some real bangers !

DJ Alex Vibe

You start of pretty well with Teardrops.
After that you beginning to build up a really relaxing atmosphere.
Transitions a little to short for my liking but pretty decent.
I am now at Aled Mann - Flashback (Original Mix) and i really enjoy this tune.
So far you track selection is pretty good...
You're making longer transitions at this point wich I enjoy !
The buildup in your mix is pretty well done.
Your beatmatching has minor flaws but overal it's really well done.

The track selection is nice and the mixing is fairly good.
All and all a pretty good mix , keep it up !

DJ Fuzzion

The opener of this mix is nice.
The overal mixing is good.
But the transition from, Madoka - Dift (Novox Dub) to Mark Thornton - Now You See (Complexz Remix)
is just horrid !

While I was listening I got the idea that you're sometimes rushing your mixing.
cause the first 3 songs are very long , you let them play all the way.
But after that you just mix kinda fast this kind of style.

I can advise (you probaly know this) that it's always best to mix at outro beats of a song
to prevent horrid beatclashing of if they aren't matched properly.
Anyway, just pay more attention to this !

One thing I really have to say this.
The sound quality of your mixed left me with some wishes.
For instance it had this constant low bass sound over it with made it harder for me
to hear transitions sometimes.

A decent mix with some flaws (none of us are perfect !)

8PM

You're starting of quite nicely.
Nice tunes in the beginning with a energetic vibe.
There is no energy loss during the mixing and the mixing is good.

Later on i heard some beatmatching flaws between Probspot - Backstabber and Kaylab - Isomalt
After that a nasty (not in a good way) transition between Kaylab - Isomalt and Katana - Tribalshock

And why oh why did you suddenly change from trance to techno by throwing tunes like Isomalt and Tribalshock in ?
It was going so well , untill you started with those tunes !
I'm really disappointed by this and then you back to trance for the last tune ?
It's ok to throw in techno but not of this magnitude it disrupts the set.

I'm of opinion that you really should've left out Tribalshock and Isomalt..
Other then that it was a pretty decent mix.

Cellec
My reviews will not be posted cause losted them thanks to my awefull f*cked up computer which crashed... will post MY final ranking though:

6. Frank Bloom
7. ZuLi
8. Resemo
9. TPR

cj milner:

A very nice flow puts this set up with my faves in this competetion. The track selection is splendid. Milner has made sure that there’s a good variation, and a good consistency in this mix.
Mixing is very good. No obvious flaws, that I heard at least. It over steers in the end, levels are way too high!

8pm kid

First thing that caught my eye was the Probspot track. It’s rarely used and a cool track. But I was soon to find out that the track used was Drifter. Why the wrong labelling?
I’m tired of 3579 KM so I was relieved to find it at the very beginning. To me a good opener, but perhaps a tad too boring. Just the way I feel about it.
The mixing is average; levels are a bit off at times, but no biggie.
Why you go from Drifter to Isomalt is beyond me! The simply don’t mix imho.
The last part of the set sounds kinda off. You cross to a completely different genre. It doesn’t work imo.

DJ Fuzzion

Great opener sets this set right off.
Sound is very compressed. Almost sounds like the whole thing is side chained and levels are well high!
In a sense this is a very traditional set, and even though there are no real surprises track wise, it has a good progression building up in a very cool manner.

DJ Resemo

I would have picked Love Theme Dusk as an opener. To me that’s a big room peak time kinda track! The genre is purist melodic. One melody stands in line to over take the previous melody. Some can’t get enough of uplifting melodies, me on the other hand, I appreciate subtlety, and I feel replacing one melody with the next can be a bit overkill. That’s just the way I’m built!
The track selection would please any big room audience at a trance party, but it wouldn’t surprise the.
The filter fx used are well timed, but I get a cheesey feel off them.

DJ Diamond

The opening mashup isn’t a good choice for an opener. It should be the surprise track of the set near the end! It’s ultra hard to build up suspense from there!!
I feel there’s a randomness to the track selection. You go from progressive back to melodic and so forth. This doesn’t add to the sense of your set building up. That, to me at least, is what you wanna aim for in a set, unless you’re the only DJ for the night with no competition biggrin.gif

Frank Bloom

A very refreshing set! Track selection is genuinely surprising and the technical skill displayed is very good.
It builds up in a really spectacular way and the track selection adds diversity and the way you have put the tracks together is just so cool!
This mix is timeless. You will be able to listen to it in two years and still enjoy it equally!

SergS:

Another purist melodic attack! Track selection is traditional, which for many is a good thing.
You build up nicely, and the sequence of the tracks is good. Mixing is good
The track selection puts me down, mostly because I’m no melodic trance buff.

TPR:

This set totally blew me away. I was gobsmacked by the track list, but I never thought it would work.
You have created a totally unique mix, which if I didn’t know the DJ I’d label a James Holden set without hesitation. It’s just that good!
The mixing skills are baffling. I know how hard it is to mix this genre, because I have failed in doing so way to often.
Without a shade of doubt in my mind the most original and extraordinary set of them all!

Alex Vibe

Any set with Andrew Kelly in it can’t be half bad. And this one certainly ain’t too!
Mixing is apt as is the track selection. The transition to It Blows my mind is a bit skewed.
I liked the track list, but it’s as if you don’t get enough out of it. Structure is part of this problem I feel. It doesn’t build up the way I’d hoped. Putting the Probspot track at the end was cheeky, but it doesn’t work for me? Somehow Ben’s voice sounds smurfy :S

Tommy :

A very clean and well put together Coldharbour kinda mix! Love that 
The track list is wicked, and the way you have structured your set is great.
You have a massive build up and you end it just right.

Mixing is great, particularly keeping the media in mind! Well done.

Akazi

I knew no track on the set list so I was very anxious to hear what I was in for.
A very interesting and fantastically well put together mix. It’s even got a cool live vibe to it!
Levels are a bit off, but nothing big. The compression of the mp3 might be to blame.
Mixing is damned nice and it was refreshing to hear a house set amongst all those melodic sets!

Loopy:

A clever tracklist had me interested from the very beginning. You almost pull it off apart for the transition from Mark Thornton - Now You See (LNQ Remix) to Albion - Air 2000 (Hybrid's Supersonic Remix) which is just off.
Mixing is fine, good timing and flair no doubt.
An honest set that almost kept what the track list promised, not bad at all!

Zuli

A very cool set list promised a varied mix which was gonna twist and turn like a rabid roller coaster. And the set did just that!
The mixing left me wanting more, but the pace and the progression almost makes up for that fact.
This set certainly was refreshing, but the technical flaws pulls it down somewhat. A shame really.
