i live in the u.s. and i love trance/house/techno/etc. while the u.s. is catching on with some styles and artists..no one around here has any info./mixes/etc. of john askew. i own only a mixed cd by him which was a disc in a collection called trance republic from earlier this year. does this guy have any other stuff out there? his style is pretty bad-ass. dry.gif

This should probably be moved to Music Discussion.

I've heard his radio show a couple of times, he's not bad.

love his work he reminds me a lot of old paul van dyk and there is also new producer greg downey and of course john o'callaghan who play similar style but yeah john askew is great every release is mostly my type of tune cool.gif

Yeah i have met john a couple of times and hes a really really nice bloke.

He's also called me once to tell me he loved a track we sent him a promo of and to ask if we could sort him out a dub of it as he loved it but wasnt so keen on the vocal! haha

his dj sets always please me, and ive heard him out loads as he lives in london himself and plays here nearly every week, especially at places like turnmills

his productions are also usually up to my tastes and his radio show (every monday night @ 11pm GMT - 1am GMT) on kiss fm is usually top notch

im sure u can listen to the show online or possibly listen to old shows via the kiss fm website which should easily be found via google

Saw him play recently, the guy rocks. Definitely going to get bigger and better in the coming years.

Most of all, in Discover Records, he's probably got himself the best label of 2005 so far (Somatic maybe a close second)
madalchemist
I've never heard any of his mixes but he's a good remixer and producer.Good hard Van Dyk esque beat and driving rhythms are the order of the day. His remixes of Casteneda- Floor Control and Terry Bones/Fred Baker- Introspection are superb! biggrin.gif
