Despite this huge volume, there are still Senior+ UKTA users who haven't been able to connect. It is THOSE users, and most especially the ones who actually contribute downloads to this forum whom I wish to give top priority for.

In the warez underground, majority of ftps are ratio...meaning, users are only able to download based on the number of credits they had....those credits being issued based on the number of uploads they initially made to the ftp itself. This weeded-out a large portion of leechers from the get-go, and rewarded the ftp owner for his bandwidth.

I really don't see it unreasonable to implement some sort of filtering system...to single-out the ones who are only here to leech and link-steal (or even worse, RIAA spys and informants!!!).

That's just my opinion.

Off my ISP web space, i've been using in the region of 7 to 10gb a week of bandwidth Which is ridiculously high, especially when this is was just my original account, i had 2 others at one point using the same time of weekly bandwidth until they got deleted.

Regarding people not being able to gain access to your FTP who you wished to have priority, this is the sad case of events i'm afraid, it is often those who contribute more who suffer because of the leechers. I've only been able to access your FTP twice since you started uploading files, for 1 file per time.

Is there any way to measure your ISP usage? A program or whatever?

Not that i know of no.

I asked my ISP what my usage was and whether it was suitable, and they informed me of the level thus far, and that they have unlimited bandwidth so i had no danger unless it got extreme.

I'll try not to leach but i haven't got many tracks worth uploading or anywhere to upload to since i've only really got into trance over the last few months, all i've got is a few tracks from txxxxxxxxxxt.com (didnt want to put a link, incase you got some advert policy, you'll probably know the site i mean anyway).
Thanks for the shares, i understand where your coming from with the problem of leaching, but everyone has to be a leacher to begin with .

I've made my own site for ringtones and stuff if you want me to post the link let me know.

I know it's a bit old, but i was laughing till death when saw it first time

It's a big problem of big traffic usage. I hate those damned leechers but can't do anything cause not very familiar with ftp-prog I run. the only thing I want to do soon is to make autoban for the dudes who doesn't want to understand that only one connection per IP is enabled. I hate when BPFTP log screen is full of words Disconnected. No more then one connection per IP enabled.

I'm really getting sick of this leeching. I posted some new tracks today and got 3 initial replies. However, there were 62 views in the first 2 hours!
So this will be my last share, unless some serious changes are made to this forum.

No offence to anyone, but WTF??? Ok i get slightly annoyed about leechers at times, but i dont stop sharing because of them. My site goes through hundreds of gigs of bandwiths a month. And me and turbo dont get that much back in credit. But you shouldnt need it. Share to let others have wot you do, and share out of the love of the music, yes leechers are annoyin, but dont let them stop you from sharing

If I had that much bandwidth to spare, then I wouldn't need it either. The one tiny problem is that I, like many of us who contribute here, are small-time operations, operating out of home dsl/cable connections that are often capped @ just above the 200kbps mark. When your upstream is that limited, every user connected is felt. There were times I couldn't even authenticate into my remote POP3. Often my internet becomes so useless that I just have to walk away for a bit and let the leechers feed.

Bandwidth is scarce, and costly...I'm sure you understand that. If I had monstrous slabs of bandwidth gushing out of huge pipes, then I would gladly let the leechers drink it up and say no more. I know the value of sharing, and I want to share freely. It just doesn't sit right with me when I'm here offering what precious little I have only to have my stuff (which is purely 99% generosity generated by this site) and possibly my links end-up on another mp3 website, or worse, in a giant pot of evidence with the RIAA.

I think the sole purpose in the majority of us all bitching about leech=reply is that we want to know that people are here because they enjoy the interaction, they like to hang-out and talk about crap, they share the common interest in trance, and they like that occasional annoying feeling of "man, my mp3 collection really sucks compared with that of others' here,"... cough-cough-Stretchy... (Dude never ceases to amaze me...he's a walking trance anthology.) But see, this is what I mean...through interaction, the users here become more than just an avatar, they become real, and in many ways, reflections of ourselves through our twisted, obsessive passion in this most excellent art form. Without interaction, this website would have no life. I just want to keep this site alive, not only just for me, but for all concerned.

Face it, we get nothing in return for our bandwidth. That's a given. Mere replies do nothing to recoup for all the time effort and money...but it surely makes for an interesting and lively website. Don't you agree?

I used to be able to post here so much, I had a freeserver at freehomepages.com and it worked great! However, i guess they figured out that having three 14MB Bitmap files doesn't look too valid So yeh my account is deleted and i've tried resigning but to no advance, i guess the mofo's nabbed my IP. My question is if anyone know any free servers that host Bitmaps so i can get back to sharing great tracks. All i've been doing is downloading and replying to some great tracks that have been provided by others and I feel bad by just posting comments, I want to do more, even though all we need is to reply to be welcome here. If you guys can help I would appreciate it, this is my fav forum.

I am currently very much into Progressive House but I started listening to Trance about 5 years ago and it will always regress back to it now and then.
