just surfing the net looking for more trance sites and came across your's for the first time. What made me decide to write you was that you had pics from PVD's gig @ Slinky. Myself and two good friends were also there (it was my first time to Slinky) and we all had blast! First time hearing Sheridan; thought he complimented PVD pretty well actually

I'm new here! This site is incredible. I live in Ft.lauderdale and listen to the global dj broadcast on Sun night(markus schultz, oakenfold, acosta, etc) and usually find myself becoming frustrated with the lack of resources available to obtain the new music they're spinning. I know I'm probably typing in the wrong forum..Sooory. Anyways, its just comforting to know that other trance freaks exist other than myself.

More than happy to join in the forum....came across the Canadian TA a while back and just recently stumbled across this superior UK version. Seems to be a wide enough range of contributors to this forum to keep things vibrant but retain a communal feel.

I live in Denver, CO and like many of you members before me have been to many trance websites in search of a new trance fix...and this site ROCKS!! I donated a little $$ to the site, to help keep it going and not be a leech on all the great music..and just joined.

Going to the GIANT NYE show in LA - not a cozy venue (9,000 pp.), but [U]MUST SEE LIVE TRANCE SOON[/U].... Oakenfold, Crystal Method, Danny Howells, etc. - anyone going? Anyone know if Sandra Collins is any good? Type of trance? I don't like the acid trance hard stuff too much...

First I became confused, disoriented, panic-stricken, worried.....I began calling police stations and hospitals world-wide looking for fellow uk tranceaddicts. But on my server download as many at one time as u like.

I completely agree with respect to Leechers and agree accounts should be deleted if there is no or little activity.
Ive just re-created my account. I had signed up a few weeks ago and had only minimally contributed to the forums but I will do more whenever I login to UKTA forum.
I know how much work and time gets put into a website like this and like me, I think many are grateful that this place exists for sharing ideas, opinions, dsicovering new musical trends and most importantly supporting the groups.

Out of curiosity, what do the others do to share their music files? My ISP wont allow copyrighted material to be posted, so I dont do that. I have a "free" website of around 50MB, and that too does not allow copyrighted material. Do you disguise your files as PDF, DOC etc..? If you post your mp3s on a webserver, you would only keep it for a few days, a week at the most right?

We disguise most of our stuff by packing it as either .rar or .zip files, then password protect them. It's normally the safest and easiest way of doing it because no host allows copyrighted material to be shared due to them being liable under current legislation as well as the individual.

Check out freehomepage.com a certain mp3 website uses them to host chart songs, you get 50mb free, however i dont think u can login via an ftp client, u have to upload via their control panel. But if you disguise the files, i assume they are a good free hoster

It seems it's down to 30mb of web space now, but the real problem is only 500mb of monthly bandwidth which is about enough to host 1 song a month with the amount of people who download on here

Thank you Fly!They REALLY have no traffic maximum as long as you're drawing enough people to your site(they implement a banner on your site,but this is nothing really disturbing if you're getting everything free!)!FTP browsing is not possible so you haveto upload your stuff on their site with their upload manager!I renamed the files to bmp,as .rar is blocked and everything seems to work fine for now!I will sign up for multiple accounts and do constantly updates and i hope the people are hitting the sites as much as they can,so that the accounts won't be deleted for "too little" traffic,but i don't worry about that *g*!We have enough leechers here i think! =)

hey galaxy ranger: that sounds like a great FREE host. when a direct link is provided for a link on that page do you know if it acts as a "hit"? otherwise the host is going to know something fishy is going on?

A community depends on everyone contributing so I think that's what we should see. The people i really can't stand are the people who download songs... don't provide any tracks.... and then, complain that the track they just leeched, sucks. Now that.... ooooooh wow could I take my fists to someone like that.

please excuse me if this ain't the correct forum for introducing ourselves but since this is called Guests&New Members I'll place it here.

First of all, my name is Peru and I live in San Sebastian, North of Spain in the basque country. I've been mixing for eight years now, mostly in vinyl. But since I bought the double cd player three years ago I've been giving cds a greater range in my sessions. And I must admit UKTA has been one of my totems in the search for high quality trance tunes. Guess I've been a leecher sometimes . Anyway, glad to join your forum and hopefully I will be a positive member as soon as I get used to the forum. You guys are doing a great job.

Ahh doesnt matter, luckily some good members filter through and really do bring a large benefit with them to the forum.

I guess leechers are something we will just have to accept.

Anyway the way its going atm, i may make a limit to how mnay people can see the downloads section, cap it at all members who have made more than 100 posts after a certain date, and leave it that way for 6 months

I'm curious about the final idea
It will give the users who provide us with there music a better way of sharing for sure I think
They don't post for 1200 useless people but only for a certain number of users

I like this idea. But you might want to make some sort of exception for people who instantly start sharing good (!) tracks.

Thats easy to do, i just make a select group of members called sharers, who automatically get access

Might wait a few more months before introducing anything though
