I want to have a selfmade created cover for the CD
Now I would like to open a contest where members can get their talent used
Now you people can subscribe here if you want to enter this contest
If you have created something then you can post it here......
I will open a poll with the contenders and other members can vote
The winner will create the UKTA CD cover when the CD is finished

*in the backcover you got 2 outlines wich you bend to the side.
just rip out another cd cover and compare with these sizes.

At that point I will open a poll with all the images
And members can vote for the best one
The winner will get all the info need when the mix is made so he can put all the info on it

i guess back cover shoudl be 595px or fron shoudl be 652px .... otherwise it's to big difference

this is my version of covers, if sizes aren't correct it's possible to recreate, but anyway it's possible to understand how i see cover

btw pictures created somethere over Baltic sea between Tallinn and Helsinki

just a suggestion: but maybe it's possible to give it a litle like "Future producers of UKTA 2006"

Remember that it isn't the Anthem 2006

it just an example because it is easy to show where gonna be texts
Main thing is about style in general... e.g. picture and possitions...

didn't fly have somewhere a pack uploaded with all logo's etc in it ?

the differrence is indeed big but it's the original size, if you don't believe me just compare with other another cover from an existing cd
ps. the back cover is suppused to be shorter in length!

most pics from the net have copyrights so if you take a pic from the net, then take a look after the copyrights

I think it's indeed the best to use own taken pics or stuff you have permission for to use. It will be a commercial release, so don't break copyrights.

I saw Ravekid's attempt, I know it's not finished yet... but maybe it's nice to also think about a title: something like "Future producers of UKTA 2006, mixed by dj blablabla"

i see you are stretching the original logo ..

i found a link wich Fly posted for the design of the ukta shirts,
might come in handy since it contains fonts, and vector files.
im sure Fly wouldn't mind if we borrow it.

just open the 'acrobat file' in photoshop,
it'll ask for a size .. just make it 3000 px width or something, the resolution of the file is high enough.

I like the UKTA logo on the vinyl, but just like blinque said... don't stretch it too much....
you better make it something better visible and make it looks like the logo is on the label itself

then you also create some space for some texts etc

Ok, here's a little preview of what I've got so far:

maybe you should try to make use of borders .. that way it's more organized

for example what BoTi did.

i think you missunderstood me .. what i ment is, your cover is one big picture now.

try to make outlines(borders) on wich you can type the text to make the it more clear, also it centers the picture.

it's just an opinion, im not saying you should

that one is good too IMO, simple and clean

you could use the UKTA font though, then it should make it a lot nicer

Thanx. Well, I used both ukta fonts that were in that pack Phantazm gave, one in the middle and at the bottom. The upper one is indeed another one, I though it looks a bit better... But I can always change it if you guys thinks it's not that good.

Here's the v2.0 of the covers...
I've done some editing on the front cover (I've changed the font to Blinque's request) + the back cover is done mostly. I'm still thinking... should I put something more on the front or leave it just this way?

can you make the front cover into a wallpaper, with 2 alternative colours? And ill stick it on the site for download, very nice by the way

Ohh, cool... I happy too see that you guys like it. Yeah, of course it's not finished yet so and with all the text on it, I guess it'll look even better.

About the wallpapers... sure I can try to do. I'll eat lunch, take a bath and will starting working on those too. What sizes should I make? And what colors would you prefer?

the colour you are using is good, but maybe a version of it in red, pink, green, orange, maybe black and white. Just normal popular colours, so people can find one they like.

And can we have each one in 1024x768 and 1280 x 1024 please.

As i say, exactly the same design as the front cover v2. Just in a range of colours. Then people can have it as their wallpaper

wasn't going to participate in this just wanted to show what i made took me 3 mins to make so

Have still one question though, couldn't I do it in 1280x960 and not 1280x1024, so that I can convert that in 1024x768 without having problems and looking distorted. Otherwise, i have to do the 1024x768 from almost nothing again. I hope you understand my question...

whatever is easiest for you mate. If it means it doesnt distort then fine, just remember what peoples screen resolutions are
