you're being too much of an extremist, you make it seem like djmag rigs the votes and decides who they want to be in the top ten and who they want to expose, rather than people who actually vote who they feel is a good dj, like armin. i feel that he plays good music, i didnt vote for him because i like the name. and no it isnt a standard for THE best dj. i have no doubt that tiesto isnt THE best dj, its not a standard. regardless of that, why would you put so much effort in the convincing of people if @ the same time you're accusing the poll to be a big joke?

But fine, I guess you can just vote for your heroes. I like Tiesto and Armin and co. myself, so I'm certainly not a "Tiesto-basher", quite the opposite. I just know that Tiesto isn't what he was, and his decline started around 2002 when he was voted #1 on the DJMag poll. I don't want the same to happen to Armin.

It's not us that take this poll seriously, it's the DJs. Their egos seem to inflate ridiculously when they get to #1, and I just think if Tiesto gets knocked down, maybe he'll start trying to be good again.

Feel free to vote for your idols. But when they start to sell out, when they stop talking to their fans and signing autographs, when they betray the style that put them where they are, maybe you'll regret voting for them in this pathetic popularity contest of a "poll".

Once again, you have missed the point. I didn't choose to vote for this guy, it was a vote taken on TA - he was nominated, he won. I'm voting for him because the majority of TA is doing so; what's the point voting for DJ Golden Nuggets when I'm gonna be the only guy doing it? Use your brain - we all have to pick the same guy if this is gonna work. We had to pick someone, and he was the guy.

This isn't an advertising ploy for DJ Mikey Mike, the guy himself has nothing to do with this and doesn't deserve your constant abuse; nor do I - I don't know the guy, I'm not even a fan, never heard one of his mixes.

There will be always be things that make dj's know they are the best. Mix CD's, concerts, clothing lines, private jets, meetings with world leaders. The Dj Mag Contest is just one of these many things. I guarantee you that the Dj Mag results are more important for the little guys than the big guys. The big guys KNOW they will be in the top 5. People like Esteura and Menno de Jong would get excited to see that they have moved up 10 places and this would give them that extra drive to get better and better. Don't sabotage a poll that means so much to so many people. YOU'RE THE ONE RUINING THE SCENE!

pff... Get a grip people. In a way, the TA's who came up with this idea are totally right. The poll has been sabotaged for years, just look at ATB and Benny Benassi who came so high up the poll last year. Now I've just voted my real top 5 and not participated in the idea, but don't just bash it.
