Hi,

I've been thinking of changing hosting , cause my hosting does not provide unlimited bandwidth.
So i was wondering , does anyone know a good hosting provider wich is cheap , provides unlimited bandwidth and doesn't need creditcard/paypal payment.

if you have an answer for me , please tell smile.gif

There is no unlimited bandwith, trust me wink.gif

The companies that offers you unlimited this or that are gone is some months and are defenitly not reliable. The cheapest bandwith can be found in the US, but you''ll need a creditcard or paypal to pay them in most cases.

Reliable and decent hosting will cost you some money but it's worth it, I would suggest you to take a Dutch host especially when you don't have any experience with hosting. Just in case you need help or support it's the most easy to tell them in Dutch.

well the problem isn't that i don't have experience with hosting cause i have plenty but i just need a good one to host my mixes / website.
and the one i'm using now has like eh ...

1gb storage
9gb datalimit

and costs 8 euro's a month
i wanna go a bit cheaper , like eh

500 mb storage
unlimited (almost) bandwidth

ah well i guess i'll try and look for a good dutch hosting company then.

www.zftp.com

sign up to www.mixthemix.com they host your site and your mixes and really do offer unlimited bandwidth specifically for DJs.

Otherwise all other hosts have usage policies, which actually means that your bandwidth is limited even though they say it isnt.

And to get a server with 2000gig bandwidth would cost you a lot, i should know, thats what we are on.

I would say for a dj website, try mixthemix. However every site will need a paypal or credit card payment, Unless you can send money order.
Patrick-S
never understood what money order is all about , some explaination would be nice... guess i just don't know the dutch word for it huh.gif
thanks for the tip though wink.gif

didn't know you could use them for a real site too, does it also include an url or DNS-service?

I'm using hosting from www.domeinhuis.nl, nu I don't think they support mp3's to be hosted... don't know actually... I have 100 Mb webspace with 2 gig bandwith/month for less than 40 euro's a year, so I'm quite happy with it wink.gif

But for mixes I think you should sign up at mixthemix wink.gif
Patrick-S
already guessed that much ... i pay way to much for my hosting (well not in terms of what i get) but for what i use of it smile.gif
so i think i'm gonna try my luck with mixthemix.com

oh if there's no-one else with questions or answer , as far as i am concerned the topic can be closed now lock.gif

Moved to tech, fits better and we can leave it open for more questions about hosting smile.gif

money order is when you pay at the post office, then they send out the money order, and then the company cash it, and you need to wait for that to clear. Atleast i think it is biggrin.gif Never done it biggrin.gif

And we could always host a site for you. Obviously there would be a price. But we couldnt match mixthemix.com's deal. They offer a webname.mixthemix.com address and unlimited bandwidth for a ow yearly cost biggrin.gif

I know you can host a site for me , we discussed that back some time.
And well i guess it goes by paypal and all as well , i mean i can do bank transfer , but since I live in holland i don't know if banks automatically convert all that euro's to pound stuff and i all , i guess never tried it before. so maybe i'll pm you about hosting stuff for me in the future smile.gif
cause this thing with mixthemix will take some time cause i don't think i wanna go on a creditcard yet tongue.gif
