I think the fuel prices are getting way out of hand, I dont know what you paying where you are but here its 90.9 per litre.
I think there should be another strike by the public, Friday is a good day because thats when they put the prices up.
Pass this e.mail on to others it worked last time somebody did it.

$2.39 per gallon by me this weekend. It was under $2.00 not too long ago. Hell, 6 years ago I paid less than $1! You know, there's some guy who sells a kit on how to make your own ethanol (from corn). You just need to add a tiny bit of regular fuel to the mixture to fool the computer on your car. Not bad, eh?

In Holland we pay around 1,40 euro's....
This fuel rise isnt directly to do with companies pushing up prices for the sake of it. Now because of the massive growth in china and india the demand for petrol has risen massively. As everyone knows increased demand means prices go up, as supply stays the same.
Petrol is predicted to run out in around 20 years. So massive fuel prices wont be a problem forever. Companies are looking at electricity alternatives, or alcohol alternatives.
In the UK our price isnt helped by the 80% tax (or something clear to that) put on fuel by the goverment. The goverment need to reduce the prices. It has been said it is costing the average family an extra £50 a month on fuel, this could have been partly to blame for the fall in sales for high street stores. So at the moment its having an effect on our economy in a time when its unstable anyways.

Talking about fuel crisis .........
Abramovitsj's crew of one of his yachts made a huge mistake by putting in the wrong fuel into the gastank of his yacht the 'Pelorus'.
A full tank costs normally around 170.000
But cleaning the tank and replacing the engine will cost him more then 11,500.000
And his trip to Sicily had to be cancelled as his boat arrived 2 weeks late
Ah well.....that guy has too much money

I'm not a car driver, but I think it's partially caused by ourselves....
...we use oil more and more and more...
...we know oil is rare so prices can raise...
...imo we didn't start early enough to search alternatives for it...

google for info on peak oil... heres a little taste of what its about...
QUOTE
Peak oil is the point in time when extraction of oil from the earth reaches its highest point and then begins to decline.
take note that we need oil to make alot of things... take plastic for example...
imagine when there is no oil left in the entire world... a world without plastic or fuel!?!?!?! and the scary part is it will actually happen... and its not that far away the rate its been consumed... you can expect fuel prices to get real high soon...

.. in my country the price of fuel is ridiculous if you compare it with the prices in the states or europe .. but it's expensive for us anyway .. so, as my country produces petroleum for export, the government put 40% tax / F.O.B. price (aside of other taxes)

in order to make the companies to not export so much and supply the domestic market with lower prices .. but they are still very expensive ..

Went past tesco at 11 and they were having to put someone outside to help keep the traffic flowing, and stopping people from going into the petrol station at points. Its a bit stupid really.
The whole point of the protest would be to hit the oil companies. However if people buy loads before the strike the oil companies still make the same amount of money.
What we should do in the uk is all agree that one one day we will all use public transport to get to work. And then we would see how crap the public transport system is. And it would prove everyone right, that the public transport system is inefficent and too expensive, plus inconvenient.

good point, Paris has a very good system. Each registration plate has a specific
code on it, let's just say that there are 10 different codes. Each day in the morning,
to avoid congestion, radio stations notify the public which coded registration plates
are not permitted to be able to drive from 9:00am till 5pm, and if caught u will be
issued a fine.
