heh discussd this same matter with a friend of mine of the "scene" a half month ago
i've been into trance for like 4 years no( only 17 so yeah

i know the classics of way back but i missed like 3 of the "deads" of trance lol) and i noticed how my taste and the scene itselfe evolved quite fast
I've always been a fan of uplifting trance, even hardtrance and "jump" ( aka norh french tekno and whatever) but since i really started listening to a state of trance 2 years ago i also noticed his changement in style
i yust listened to asot episode 124 and you cant quite compare that
to get to the point: "progresive" has made its way in, and how can you define a genre that is called "progresive"? i mean in the word itself you hear the worde "progres" to get forward. I think we reached a moment where our "progresive" isnt really progresive anymore but yust expanding itself over the whole trance scene

' (especially amerika etc but also noticing lil bith of changement in belgium we yust have a more hardtrance etc tradition

you cant go to a big city without finding jump especially here in "west-vlaanderen)
i feel i am losing track on my post and the meaning of it

so a lill conclusion, trance is still evolving even after it has been decleared dead numberous of times. uplifting is going to a period of crap

but we all know progresive will make place after a x amount of time for a new form and that both the progresive and the uplifting wont dissapear but yust become more "adult" like yazz and rock did
for me progresive is already a more deeper form of trance but yeah that is already a personal interpretation
