And you missed the most important point: this is a discussion board, not a download site.
There is a torrent download section....right? So its also a download site. In fact when you visit the site you are encouraged to join the forums to get the latest downloads.
We havent been fined by the uk music industry for one good reason, we are a non profit organisation,
Is it not true that many of the radio broadcasts you have available for download have their rights owned by a group or company. I doubt they appreciate the ad free sharing of their broadcasts, take the recent removal of ASOT from a well known live sets download site:
Gavin Kingsley, the Director of The Radio Departement asked us to remove all A State Of Trance (Armin Van Buuren sets) and Digweed @ KISS livesets from the ***** pages so we did. They have the management of the ASOT show and sites that want to broadcast the show must pay a monthly fee (like Digitally Imported does). ***** work with the artists and agents, not against so the decision to remove the sets in question was an easy one to make. Other sites that offer ASOT/Digweed sets for download will apparently be contacted by The Radio Departement in the near future.
What do you say to the above quote Fly? You say you are a non profit organisation and could charge for downloads but dont, if you are indeed out of pocket as you say you are then maybe you should. THe members of this great community should be giving you more financial support then. Have you all who read this thread given to the owner to help his costs. I doubt it. But you will rise to his defense against infidels like me....please

Ok ill reply to this, just to again inform you, as you seem to think you know a lot more than you do.
With regards to the torrent section please re read my initial reply

I will quote it for you again
The only exception is the torrents, as we already have a strong member database on the forum, i didnt want users to have to resign up to get access to another php system on the website. So i paid for a torrent system to be placed as an add on to the forum. So far it has been fairly succesful, and has helped to reduce our bandwidth costs. This is why its available for guests, no need to sign up, or post ANYTHING. You can come and use it without paying $20 a year, its just totally free.
As said above the torrent section has to be on the forum, but we do not encourage people to sign up, as guests can download and seed torrents.
Now, on to your point about the legality of the site, and the DJs we share sets from.
I have personally been contacted by a number of DJs who actively support our site. You heard of Matt Darey? He offers us dj mixes to share, as well as prizes to give away.
Bonzai has sent us prizes again to offer to our visitors. And also mondo records (darren tates company) We receive access to dj connections ftp to offer exclusive sets from their DJs. And i could go on. Something im not that proud of, but dave pearces guys contacted me and now have a link to this site from us.
Turbotrance our uploader also has exlcusive access to markus schulz gdjb mp3s recorded straight from his decks. So if you think we havent got the support of the biggest named DJs you would be mistaken

I am pretty proud of what i, and our team have created here. And i dont mind dicussing that. So hopefully i have given you another insight into the runnings of the site.
We have also had interest from the large trance mp3 stores about affiliate systems, so the future of this site, helping the industry that we love, is looking very good
