and i went to a server located at Seattle (in case you dont understand spanish) .. and i got this:

100kb/sec download. 23kb/sec upload, 1mbit i think

My network is connected through a 2 Mb line but as it's shared by 40 people the speed is much slower. I got around 170 kb (~20 kB/s) but it's morning here now; in the afternoons and evening the speed tends to be lower because then most people are online.

I have 712 kb/s but in a month Ill upgrade up to 2 mb/s

1mbit connection here. Couldnt survive on something slower running this site.

Everyone should roughly know their connection speed. It will prob be one of these:

56k - dial up (modem)
64k - ISDN
512k - broadband
1mbit - broadband
2mbit - broadband

and so on. The uk we only go up to 2mbit, but thats fast growing

Because the config file I'm using at the moment uses bits. Makes it easier.

Yes, I know...but before I heave myself back on topic (sorry again) , let me tell you this little story...

At work, we use MSN messenger to communicate with everyone from users to head-honcho corporate brass. Anyway, one day I was chatting with a senior manager about how to fix a problem with his laptop docking station. I typed haphazardly in my MSN window:

in sweden almost every single student have these connections and some universities offer this connection for free if u choose that particular university. I just finished my studies at uni which happened to be one swedens most popular universities so I had to pay a small sum for the net (about 12 euros/month) bah
