I'm a little tired of playing the most current tracks, only because everyone else is using them. So to be different, I chose a few older tunes. This is actually the second hour of a 2 hour mix I made for ETN.fm. Hope you like it.

I agree. Seeing the same artist in a tracklist looks a bit cheesy. But for this case, I believe it's not completely the same. Only because the Whirloop's remix sound is totally different than the NU-NRG sound. If both tracks were just one artist, I would frown-down on that as well. wink.gif

Dude, you've forgotten about Jose Amnesia - The ethernal (Nu-NRG rmx) just in
the beggining of the set tongue.gif

Btw nice mixing.

Maybe it would be better if you have made an exclusive mix for the contest, because
this cut of the ETN mix starts with some uplifting than progtrance and ends up in some harder tunes....
but maybe it's because only of my taste, that i don't like them this way. wink.gif

I think in top5 because of timing/mixing, if not then it's because of the buildup. ph34r.gif

Ohh....nearly forgotten!!!
Good luck and buy some choclates for the judges! biggrin.gif

(i say this only because this is the 2nd set i reviewed this time and .......belive me! tongue.gif )

Hey Vision

Your mixes are always nice, cool selection of traxx, but....

The first three traxx sounded a bit the same to me (all Nu NRG style)
Mix was having some "double beat" crossovers which means the beat EQ is on at both channels, I think this sounds not ok.... just my opinion

The overall mix was very nice, you've won contest 2, so you're a good mixer wink.gif

Tracklist: 8
Mixing/Technique: 9
Build-up: 7
Originality: 6

Overall - 7.5

The mix slams straight in to a gorgeous remix by Nu-Nrg, just love that key change! I'm gonna have a hard time judging this one, knowing that its taken from the second hour of a radio mix. I feel that it should be a rule in future competitions that all mixes should be made exclusively for the competition, its just not fair on those people that spend a lot of effort dedicating their time to making the UKTA mixes. Alas, this is not currently a rule in this competition so I have to treat it just as any other mix smile.gif Are you a fan of PVD at all? This mix really does have an energy comparable to his sets. I love pretty much all the tracks you have used, and all fit in with each other very well, its clear that you have taken a lot of time in preparing the order of the mix. This is incredibly clear when you get to track 8, from then on till the end the energy just keeps pushing and pushing relentlessly, you really got me moving in my seat! Mixing is almost flawless throughout, with only some slight beat cancellation with the Nu-nrg tracks where you needed to drop the bass a little, otherwise I can't fault it. Each track is filled with energy, you would certainly be a crowd pleaser at a live gig as these tunes would really work a crowd.
