This time i did little different mix than previous times. Its still selection of my favourite prog tunes but i didnt include that much experimental style (read nathan fake or holden tunes tongue.gif ). Mix is mostly prog but breakz also and mix ends to track by our very own forum member Astar. Astar did great job with Tearrain, really huge tune. Be sure to listen that. I hope you enjoy it as much as i do. Feedback is more than welcome.

Tracklisting: 6.5
Build-up: 6
Mixing/Technique: 9
Originality: 7

Overall: 7.125

Very cool intro track here, great use of vocal. A well timed and executed flow into Dilemma, holding the beats well. The drop in pace works well after the first track, and the track slowly gathers up the tempo. Nice and cool start so far. Arcadia coming in now, excellent beat blend here, no clashes at all. Those 'spacey' kinda sounds in Arcadia do begin to get annoying tho lol. You've done well to bring in those kicks of Mirage in so smoothly, they seriously need toning down as it just ruins the track. Another flawless transistion into the breakbeat of Wooden Swordz follows, excellent EQ control. Exquisite has a very complex start with a lot of beats flying around, but the mix was only very slighly out. I would maybe have tried mixing this after Mirage as they kinda have a similar sound, but thats just me. I kinda find this tune a little too repetitive, it just seems to last forever and thus gets rather boring. Perhaps you could have brought Eighties in a little earlier to give it more of an impact. Awesome mix into the last track, Tearrain really makes a nice finish. Overall, an excellently mixed set, though you were let down by a few tracks. The first 3 and last 2 tunes were great and flowed very well, but I think tracks 4 and 6 were kinda fillers and you could have used some more interesting tunes to keep the energy going better.

Thanks for the reviews guys, really interesting to read. I can see that especially cj milner has really put some thought on the review and listened really carefully the set. Thats the way i hope judges in future comps will do it thumbsupsmileyanim.gif
