After the excellent Lighthouse and a rather stunning remix to Scott Bond vs Solarstone's Red Line Highway, this producer also known as Alucard or Sonar Methods who hails from the small town of Winnipeg, Canada are showing no signs of stopping. Up next is a potential winner, Trailer Park Boy. It is currently released as a promo vinyl, but a full release should be expected in the very near future. The promo vinyl contains Trailer Park Boy, and another tune, N.E.T (Not Enough Time) on its flipside. This progressive trance bomb has already reached the hands of DJs like Markus Schulz, Armin van Buuren and Sasha, and has made regular appearances in their respective playlists.

Trailer Park Boy
With rather quiet and slow start, hints of the main melody start to appear, before the bass really kicks in bringing the melody into full force. With a very typical Alucard-like sound to it, the melody suddenly breaks, where a rather unusual vocal - 2 'trailer park boys' can be heard talking to each other, before the voices are put into a loop (and fading out) and an excellent buildup to the melody again. Hints of the vocals can still be heard in the background while the melody is in full swing. Again, after some variation to the melody sample, it breaks down again, bringing back the voices. As the vocals are heard the main tune begins to gain control once again, before a bassline bringing the track to live again. The tune would eventually start to de-energize and then break into a finish. Perhaps one may think that this tune lacks variety and is a bit too repetitive, but the rather unusual vocals does bring a whole new dimension to it.

N.E.T (Not Enough Time)
Unlike Trailer Park Boy, the flipside starts off with a bang, with the bassline in full force from the start. Orchestral samples can be heard before the synths kick in and the main melodic sample makes an appearance, giving the track some energy. A break then follows, where a variation of the melody slowly leads the track into back into its melodic structure, going through an excellent build-up in the process. A couple of repeats then paves the way for a wind down to the track, where it finishes. A more powerful and energetic tune compared to Trailer Park Boy, does have a rather fresh feeling to it compared to other recent Alucard productions.

Dance/Chill Factor : Chill - Not the best to be thrown on the dancefloor because of its rather laid back progressive sounds. Kick back and relax to this one!

Overall : 7/10 - Recommended listening

Trailer Park Boy : 8/10 - Potentially THE progressive-trance tune

N.E.T (Not Enough Time) : 6/10 - Not a bad tune, but not one to shout about

Yeah I agree that Trailer Park Boy is better. As for this track, I think that the "vocals" don't suit this music style, especially those dirty words. But Peter uses nice echoing and such which makes the track listenable however. wink.gif

My favourite McCowan tune is still Alucard - Late Summer Fields (Original Mix).

It's the variety in tastes that leads to the need of reviews.
