Bobina-Promo Mix Autumn 2004

My First Review Will Be Dedicated To My Formal Neighbors Bobina (Dmitriy Almazov & Sergei Vinogradov)

I Just Got My Hands On Their Autumn Promo Mix And I Would Like To Tell You What I Thought Of It

since the first release that these guys had in 2004 they rocketed on trance scene all over the world so i was really exited to hear their newest mix which would be first for me i still however have mixed feelings about it
overall playlist is pretty good and their mixing skills are great however few tunes werent as i expected and slightly blemished the mix for me

the mix starts out with the tune that i have never heard before Laurent Konrad-Haunted. kind of weird lots of synths with pretty poor vocals this tune is more on housy side. the next song kicking in makes you think that you really listening to house mix vs trance. if i did not know it was bobina i would have probably turned it off and listen to asot 181 but that where i am wrong the mix just getting started

the 3rd tune makes you realize that mix will be pretty good bobina remix of jump the next train finally puts you in trance mood. i give these guys props on putting this song in this order as its totally switches the mix to a whole new level. surely i am not a huge fan of their next selection dido-sand in my shoes but it does sound pretty good actually coming after jump the next train i would have never expected it if i did not see the playlist dido makes you wanna a dance in this mix wow who could have thought

following dido is vercetti aka lange-in control what a superb tune it is and now the mix is getting slightly harder yet again changin its pace. bobina really did a good job of combining multiple styles in this liveset this does take some skill and not many djs have done it (that i have seen). super8-cre8 is a perfect follow up from lange track being a spectacular tune its clearly making this mix that much better once again great mixing by bobina makes the transition really cool

next up their own remix of red line highway i personally think this tune should have been somewhere in the begining but still the playlist is just getting more impressive by the tune. perhaps they went overboard trying to jump between different styles but the liveset is still very enjoyable. followed by dogzilla-your eyes the liveset yet again takes turn to a harder side in my opinion dogzilla track should have been used after lange track but it works now you are completely into it and asot 181 no longer required great track selection makes you forget all about it

agent smith-kosmos goes after dogzilla and in my opinion this is one of the best follow ups in the entire liveset. just a fantastic mixing makes this tune sound even better and the mix stays on harder side which makes you realize that its gonna go softer very shortly. and it surely does with sweet sorrow following up once again great mixing and the tune sounds like its in the right place the first 2 housy tracks are no longer the problem the mix has taken over your soul and body completley

the perfect ending for this liveset comes in the form of radiohead-street spirit (tiesto remix). the finisher calms you down after some hard beats and great melodies the mix comes to the end and you realize that you wanna hear it again

Overall i must admit i enjoyed it. definetly something you might wanna check it out bobina shows yet again that they come to trance scene to stay impressive mix for the exeption of first few tracks and some combinations they used but these guys know what they are doing and i am keeping this liveset on my desktop as i am going to enjoy for weeks to come

8/10 this set definetly should be listened to at least once

let's forget about the first two tracks which sucks totally.(or let's make it three because I did not like Bobina's remix to "Jump the Next Train")

if the set started with the fourth track, I would give this set a fair rating.

I must say that transitions between the tracks were smooth. no problems with that.

but even starting from the fourth track, track selection is not so good imo.

and for the first two tracks; it is just pointless and silly to play these tunes at the start of the set if you are later gonna turn into trance. two totally different types of music.

I did not have the tracklist in front of me when I was listening. so after first two tracks I was thinking of turning my mp3 player off. but I was patient enough.

i agree first 2 tracks should not be in this mix but still they did a great job switching the style altogether so i stick with 8/10

i'm downloading it right now

i was bored , installing windows 2000 in my class room (for an assignment for school) and well i looked up on the forum and a saw the bobina promo mix
so i downloaded it cause i liked some bobina remixes and the tracklist looked good as well , although i had heard most of the tunes

So i was listening to it and i really loved it
the combination between house and trance they did
the mixing was good as well so i'll give this set 8/10
i think it deserves that much.

enjoy it i know i still do
